Did it? Is that how you thought of the idea? I always wonder where the inspiration for random ideas comes from! But its a lovely little poem and image anyway. Good luck

Ray, I love for my poems to have more than one meaning, but this one is straight up about my grandfather clock. Ha! I haven't visited anyone's pages since the Holidays. Have written 3 very short poems and off I go staying so busy, I feel like I've abandoned this site!!! Will be back on in my usual addictive way by this weekend. Thanks so much for this great review! :-)) Sue

Not too much to say about these short little poems. I liked this one alot. You managed to convey a clear picture with only a few words to work with.
Good Job - sherry

Just as I was reading your review, I saw that my clock needed to be re-wound! It stopped...yikes! Thanks so much for your very kind words and review. Happy New Year! Sue

Ha! We don't have a grandfather clock, but I always wanted one. We do have a 'schoolhouse clock' that chimes and I love it, but it needs to be fixed. :( Take care and Happy New Year! M.

A lovely picture and I enjoyed the image you painted with your words. I could almost hear the chimes in the background. How appropriate, the grandfather clock to ring in the New Year. :) Good luck!

Gorgeous presentation and delightful concrete image - even without the illustration, one can just see and hear your clock, so grand and elegant in tone and color - this is a brand new form to me - but you do it proud.

Brooke, thank you for this lovely review. I'm loving writing these very short pieces to learn to present very few words to create an image. And for you to say I did it, does make me proud! With warmest regards, Sue

thank you for sharing that with us, but you didn't say what time it was and now I don't know ...LOL
simple piece
simplicity in poems goes a long way
we often miss deeper meanings in short poems, because we skin over them quickly

Steve, this is why I really love entering contests here. With their confined formats, it really forces you to THINK about each and every word! It sure has taught me a lot being on this site. Thank you so much for your most generous review and great comments! By, the way....it's the "top of the hour" in all 24 times zones!! HA!!!! :-)) Sue

Oh, that was precious, you don't have to say too much and you didn't, however in a few words you spoke volumns. It's a great piece and you should be proud. Loyd
