Hi, Sue
All ingredients of 'proper' free verse - a little random rhyme, plenty of appropriate metaphors and a little alliteration.
Wonderful observations of nature and a lovely ending.
Well done, IMHO. Best wishes, Ray xx

soundless snow shrouds us from unwelcomed eyes - I really like that! Stolen, unspoken time under the night's stars- I was enchanted by the whole vignette

Brooke, I'm learning from all you wonderful writers in here!! I'm coming to a point where I am feeling bolder and am daring myself.
And for it to come through for you to "see" my words as intended...this is so huge for me! I thank you so much for your lovely, lovely review.
My warmest regards,
Sue

Thank you for sharing this perfect moment. Wonderfully calm and soothing serenity ion tone, pace and imagery make this an enjoyable read. Soothing as soft silvery moonlight.
Love this:
The tree's rustle
renders a hush
making its presence
known only to us
Not to be named
is this stolen time
as a word would
falsely define it
No nits.
Warm Regards,
rama devi

Sixteezkid,
Nature grants us many of these unexpected moments and the happiest results are realized when we stop and enjoy them -
listen to the sound of silence and see th beauty all around.

Hi there Sue. Just on my way to bed and thought I'd stop by for a few reviews first. This is wonderful. Each little passage very well stated and the imagery is lovely. I have the same problem as with your last piece. It seems too long somehow. Either different formatting with more per line to make the overall look shorter or tighten it with fewer verses perhaps. See what other reviewers think. just an opinion

Jude, so glad you did stop by! Hmmmmm...... (ha!) I hear what you're saying. I did cut back BIG on the other after your review. Now, I'm going to have to consider cutting more words?? Say it isn't so! I do like the very narrow columns of free verse...easy on the eyes (to me). Will let it lie for the night and see what happens after I re-visit it. I value your opinion and thank you very much for this very kind review. My regards, Sue

I particularly liked the two negatives in this poem,
"A glimpse-
night's stars
each casting
a glint of silver
not to bring light
A breeze
gently whispers
not to stir time "
I make no comment on the form, because I only work with structured form - but your choice of words is quite delightful!
