Lady Gayle,
It's funny reading the idiot's justifications as they fit so well with the really notorious American and European spies of of the last century.
So the beat goes on. One guy hope to cut and run leaving his erstwhile collaborators in the lurch while the good guys and their canine counterparts are still hot to trot in the solution to the disappearances.
Nicely done.

Hey Wayne,
I know what you mean. I felt it was all so cliche until I remembered the REAL spies who did this kind of thing...too much. I think you're going to like the way this goes down! Thanks for the great comments and your support.
Hugs,
Gayle

Hi Gayle, good progress I must say. You never know when a person is desperate for finances, family demands, etc, to what level they can come down. Just weakness I presume, taking the easy way out without thought for the consequences. They are the type of people that easily fall prey and are the victims of circumstances.
and would not want [to] fire him,
See you soon,
Sylvia

Hi Sylvia,
So good to see you again! Well, poor Dan, I don't think he's really thought this through to its logical conclusion.
Got that "to" in there, thanks for the eagle eye!
Hope to see you again soon and thanks for the great rating and comments.
Hugs,
Gayle

Well Gayle, you've done it again. Quite a mix, political interference, dishonest friends, and what appears to be an apparent dead end. Keep up the good work.

Hey Charlie,
Yeah, we're going to get very busy here. Poor Dan, he's playing with the wrong group, I fear. Thanks so much for the R&R and the great comments, my friend. You know how much I appreciate you!
Hugs,
Gayle

Yes, I'm afraid having not read the preceding chapters i am at a disadvantage to give you a wothwhile review. I liked your use of dialogue and the piece was well written, but i is tough for me to comment on the story itself. Terror

Hi Terror,
I feel like I should put a warning on here, cause it is impossible to enjoy a chapter...let alone half a chapter in the 'almost' end of the book
Kudos for being able to hang in there and for the kind rating. Some blame the author when they don't know what's going on. Thanks again,
Gayle

Oh, my gosh. How easy it is to deceive ourselves when greed gets in the way. This poor sucker is in way too deep and there's no way the Russians are going to let him skate free. Dan is going to make the perfect scapegoat. Sigh. Very sad.
As much as Andy liked him personally and would not want [to] fire him,
Hugs,

Oh Renie! A sixer! I am truly flattered by your words and the rating is fabulous. Will add that 'to' in there
Yeah, you're so right there. I would imagine he won't be with us to very much longer. And with him gone, wow! Now what?
Thank you so much, sweetie for the outstanding rating and kind words, not to mention those beautiful eagle eyes!
Hugs,
Gayle

Excellent chapter Gayle, I smell a betrayal coming here. Dan is rapidly moving down that one way street from being an asset to a liability. I will be very surprised if he makes it out of the parking lot alive. Very well done.

LOL! Frank, you never disappoint. Am I too transparent or are these kinds of books your preferred reading and I'm just on track?
Thanks dear for the great words and for always being so perspicacious. You give me big grins!
Hugs,

Actually, my prefered reading is adventure/mystery, I've read everything written by Vince Flynn, most of Clive Cussler and am drawing down of David Baldacci, James Patterson, Jeffrey Archer and a few others. So in answer to your question, you're right in line.
