Have you ever thought of writing children's stories? You're a natural. You'd make a great Dr Doolittle. Another fun and compelling read.
Great stuff

Yes - if life hands you a lemon, do you throw it away or make lemonade? Attitude is so important when one tackles the everyday routines. I prefer to fly than to trod.
We had several goats on our ranch but I did not milk them. That was my sister's job. I had to muck out the stalls, tend to feeding and plow the gardens. Talk about being handed a lemon, but, looking back, I thrived on the chores and they helped to make me who I am today.
Thanks for the story. Loved it. Charlie

Thank you for sharing the differences between these two goats. Yes you re right the attitudes you portrayed seems to follow through into the human world. I remember seeing cows being hand milked, some stand still while others have to be restrained by the neck, legs and tail. Maybe Jumper will have to be chained in the first place and she will eventually learn (or maybe not) if she stands still she will be out of thee quicker.
Love and blessing

Wow, Jan, this is such an amazingly great idea to show what we do with our choices in life. Extremely thought provoking, made me ask myself instantly, what am I doing with my life, am I a Hannah or a Jumper??
You are such a talent my friend. I love your writing and enjoy it so much.
Thanks for sharing and making me think!

I'm just now learning about your Rainbow Gate Stories, but I think this one is just great. I am going to let my eight year old Goddaughter read it. I like the observation you made here about two people, uh, goats given the same opportunities and while one makes lemonade, the other eats sour lemons.
As a matter of fact I've often wondered the same thing: Does God get tired of us and our complaints, and what would happen if He did.
I found this story both funny and insightful. it picked me up out of the doldrums. Thanks.
I found no errors.

A wonderful analogy, Jan, that shows the importance of diversity in any community. If we do not want to become like the "Borg" of Star Trek fame, we must appreciate and accept diversity, even if it is annoying.
In this sentence,
Every morning before the sun comes up, that person, Janilou herds us all into a big pen with huge walls
you need a comma after "Janilou."
Other than my father, I have never seen anyone who could write so well with the voice of an animal. I love these fables with a moral; you write them extremely well.

This is such a great story and the message in it is so very true. I would love to spend time at the Rainbow Gate farm. Goats are so adorable! (Well, maybe not if one was biting me, but I still think they're cute.) I only had one suggestion:
"I've provided everything they need to be happy, and yet, they hang back, waiting, complaining, begrudging and enduring what should be a wonderful experience - life.(") <---forgot to close out the quote there).
Thank you for this message. Well done!
