Christmas memories are always special, especially when there are young children in the family. I can remember the joy and how excited I used to get as we approached Christmas. It's a shame we lose the magic the older we get. An excellent chapter, Barbara, I enjoyed reading it.

Sure liked reading this non-fiction post. Your dialogue definitely helps move the action forward. It was a true-to-life slice-of-life account. Sounds like the family members who visit you help make life interesting. The only fix I suggest is here: I'd smile when I saw the beautiful artwork every time, I check on the snails.
I think you can take the comma out after time. Also, I am curious if you are checking on snails outside to make sure something isn't being eaten, or if you have a snail farm (I only recently found a fifth grade class who claimed to have one in a see-through container in the back of their class).

I only check on the snail so I can tell the truth to the girls. As far as I'm concerned, they can move. They like to eat our garden during the summer. LOL I'll remove the comma. Thank you, the review and the help.

Snail condominiums are so cute, I never heard of it before.
Your granddaughters sound like adorable girls. Grandchildren are a blessing. I went to Disneyland with my family. I took a picture with them. They are wonderful.

Nice stories. You do have to pick your battles. I let me kids use their imagination as much as possible. It makes kids good problem solvers.I helped with homework, and made sure people could read their writing. Not important these days. karen

Many in today's society have no clue how to think for themselves or to think critically. They just follow what other nonthinkers tell them.

I'll have my first grandchild the end of April. The only little grandchildren I have right now are these two. The others are grown.
