Harry,
This heartfelt poem truly opines about today's broken world. Your words are poignant and your images bring sadness to the reader. I hope people wake up and change our world, before it is too late.
Blessings, and good luck,
Cindy

Hi Harry,
I think we are all yearning for peace from war and other violence that brings death and destructions. We need to find a way to end drive by and mass shootings and bring safer and more peaceful living.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Yes, Jake. I believe so. At least I am hoping we can still get it right. Thank you for your review. I really appreciate that!

Your poem about peace makes a strong point. we are doing all the same wrong things so nothing changes. When will we learn, I wonder? Your bleak background color suits the tone of the peace-less theme. You've well-expressed something that is difficult to define. It's moving:)

Your poem is staying the world as today in a well defined, logical method,
Hadn't the world basically been the same as this what seems forever?
Very thought provoking. Nicely presented.

Nicely done, Harry.
This poem captures in a thought-provoking manner the state of the world we live in.
I love the rhyming structure it adds strength and direction, and well done on that great rhyme for journey.

It is certainly a longing that many have displayed although those longings don't seem to have made it to the upper tiers of 'power' and the need to hold onto such... sigh. A heartfelt offering here that appeals to many... Thanx for sharing your pen! ;)

This is an excellent poem that reminds us of our responsibility as a human race to seek avenues of less resistance and opportunities for greater connection and involvement with one another. I appreciate the lament that tells us we need to do better without picking one side or another and excoriating everyone else. Thanks for sharing.

This is done quite well. Line five is unwieldy, It does not flow naturally. "Peace we are not learning". Try :
Why are we not learning? Otherwise you have no nits for me to pick. Us it or magic one of your own. Good work. Karen

The final two lines of the poem gives us readers some food for thought about 'Peace' as the New Year begins and in stanza one line three the poet expresses his sorrow and his reaction to an absence of peace
