It is getting harder and harder to believe Trenton when he gives his excuses. I'm glad she is not falling for his answers blindly. They could still work things out but not unless he is completely honest about things. Nice chapter, Beth.

Thank you, Marilyn. I don't think honesty is one of his strong assets. He is good thing think up fairly logical sounding stories.

Marsha is great! She's sounding so confident and determined to be proactive before it's too late. She really wouldn't let Trenton get a word in edgeways although he did try and made a pretty good job at trying to counter all Marsha's allegations. But this excellent dialogue here convinces me that Marsha is going to make the best of this by getting all her ducks in a row and trying to keep emotion out of it. Well done, Beth. Take care Debbie

As a Christian, I do not like divorce. Perhaps a legal separation is best. Trenton's responses do not seem entirely plausible. It will be interesting to see what happens next in their relationship.

Thank you, Jim. Ideally there should be no divorce but that takes two people working together. Sometimes things get so bad that having to live under circumstances of stress can even destroy your spiritual life.

You are right about that. When that happens, divorce seems the only way out.

She's asking questions, but not getting the right answers. He's trying to turn it all back on her. If he was innocent he might be a little bit more forth coming with how he exactly feels and why was he drinking so much. Great chapter, Beth.

Yes, I think you've negotiated this episode rather well, yes, cheating men have always worked out their stories before they are confronted with the truth, but anyway, he doesn't seem to want a divorce, perhaps he is regretful of his past misdemeanours, beautifully written Beth. Blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. I guess it is a necessary talent for a lawyer to be able to come up quickly with logical sound stories to explain various situation. Trenton is probably a pretty good lawyer.

This is a very wonderfully written chapter for your book and I very much enjoyed listening to it. It flows very well your sentence structure, and your paragraphing along with your punctuation. Make it a pleasure to listen to. May you have a blessed day. Merry Christmas.

Excellent chapter. I'm really getting into the story plot. Good character development. I hope Marsha holds on to her strong stance. Trenton is such a creep.

Check these out .....

Great dialogue, Especially on Marsha's part. I wondered, though, if she might have spoken out about the woman who was upset. And about the missing paycheck money.
Best wishes.

Thank you, Wayne Those stories and his excuses were in the previous story. He told her the woman who was so upset was probably a client. He claimed she always acted like everything was a matter of life and death. He claimed the missing paycheck was something he had planned to tell her about. He said he'd invested the money hoping to show a big gain, but the investment had fallen through and he'd hoped to make back the loss before he told her.

I'm wondering why she didn't bring up the missing money to his paycheck. Marsha needs to do what's right for her and the kinds. Trenton isn't it at this time in his life. I wonder about investigating the woman who son saw with him.

Thank you Barbara. She had started questioning him in the last chapter and they had talked about the missing money and the lady who was so upset. He had excuses for both. He claimed he had lost money in a bad investment and was embarrassed to tell her until he made it back.

This is a typical conversation between husband and wife when one party is in total denial, mainly because they want the best of both worlds. A wife at home and a lover on the side. I hope Marsha has the strength to go through with this and not allow herself to be treated badly, another fine chapter Beth, love Dolly x x x
