I gather there is a distant home that both will be rejoined finally, and I believe thst will happen to many now, it's incredibly sad, and many irrevocable happenings, but everyone has not been written as well as this one. Beautifully Württemberg, blessings Roy

Beautiful, Jessica! My heart breaks for every woman - mother, wife, daughter -- that faced those moments of saying goodbye as the men went off to war, fearing the worst, praying for the best, but living in the unknown. And the only answer is when they meet again with God's blessings surrounding them.

This is a beautiful love story told in free verse, Jessica. It had me thinking of my parents, my mother got a missing in action telegram (WW2) but fortunately dad made it home 3 years later. Beautifully written, good luck in the contest.

What a very moving poem paying tribute to the one she loved so much. We are not told of the intervening years, just that her love never waned. When tears come unbidden, I know it deserves six stars. Very beautiful and poignant writing.

What a poignant and moving free verse, Jess! You manage to incorporate so much here in the story of a soldier missing in action, the birth of a daughter he'll never see in this world and then the reunion in heaven. Now here, I'm not sure if you're talking and the wife or the daughter but it is clearly an elderly woman and a beautifully described passing from this world into the next.
