Perfect. I was think about when I gave my 16 years of age daughter away to a man od five years her age. He promised to see she graduated, and he did that they have showered me with grandchildren and been married for 45 years and owner of many rent house. God move in strange ways. You did well with this story, Beth.

I don't think age matters that much. He thought I was mature for my age. I wasn't a silly giggling teen. The bad thing about nine years is he died way before me. My grandmother was 10 years younger and she died first. I really appreciate the six stars.

Most young people today would think that was too much work to have a relationship and moved on before it ever had a chance. I believe in fate and you truly had it working for you and Evan.

Thank you, Carol. I'm sure that kind of relationship would never have a chance today. It is surprising it worked even back then.

We all know where this is leading don't we? It is your hubby. He saw what he wanted. He knew you were younger so he took his time. It is very sweet. Have a good week. karen

I gave him a hard time before I was willing to admit, he was the one. I glad he waited.

Well, times sure have changed since you were a teenager, and in my opinion, not for the better. Men have always had an ornery streak, and many accepted it as normal. But the once double standard for women is now a thing of the past. Nowadays, sleeping around is considered normal behavior for everyone. But sadly, now both sexes are missing out on the thrill of the chase, which you've described and shown just how wonderful it can be. It sure makes you appreciate the catch. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I realize times have changed and nothing is like it was in the 50's. Many of the R rated movies are all about sleeping with a different partner every night and it often the woman's idea. I don't see how any marriage survives now.
reply by Ric Myworld on 02-Dec-2024
Most marriages don't survive, and the ones that do, have the couple going in opposite directions. It's sad for everyone and what's even worse is, they don't even realize it.

I got cut off and didn't finish. I guess the machine was trying to tell me to shut up. LOL. Everyone keeps wondering why I won't date and they all try to fix me up. I just say no, I'm not interested. First off, I'm too old to care, and I'm happier alone than I'd be with someone I had to wonder who she was with last night. :-)

Young love. Wasn't that a Pat Boone song? Anyway, i fell in love often until... the girl would respond favorably, and being a confirmed bachelor to be until thirty (I made it to 32) I would be scared off when they reciprocated.

I understand. Girls get scared off easily as well. At least they did back then. I tended want to run if I guy seemed to be too interested. I have a very pretty granddaughter who just turned thirty. She goes the other way when a guy starts acting too interested. Thanks for the review.

With your writing about your life, you pretty much take me back to my own years of schooling because we've pretty much for parallel in our schooling. Patricia.

Oh how easy we have it now with computers and cell phones! But somehow the handwritten letters that came by mail were much more exciting. Good chapter.

Thank you, Marilyn. We didn't realize how much more convenient life could be. We just accepted that is the way things were and we make it work.

Thank you, Wayne. I'm glad he was impressed enough to wait for me. Because I wasn't to commit to anything permanent, but he was the right on for me.

I really enjoyed reading your story! The way you capture the mix of emotions that come with young love is so relatable. I loved how you took me along for the ride as you shared the uncertainty of it all. The bit about the chess game and the comment about women being "less intelligent" was great. Keep going - this is so enjoyable to read.

Thank you, Michael. I pleased you enjoyed my story. I enjoy the memories myself. When I start remembering, I think of things I thought were long gone but they're all still there.
