Being an e-weather geek back in the days, this cannot happen, and likely what did was the fog dissapated with the warming of the sun, and above it was stratus cu, more than likely, or fair-weather cumulus neither which linger between 700-2500 feet at their base. Still, I get your drift.

Come on Tom, don't confuse me with the facts. To me this sound like what I was describing.
CLOUD DEVELOPMENT - National Weather Service
www.weather.gov/.../cloud_development/clouds.htm
Fog will often lift into a layer of stratus due to an increase in wind or rise in temperature. As the sun heats the ground the base of stratus cloud may rise and break becoming shallow cumulus cloud as its edges take on a more distinctive form.

This is a beautiful image and gives a hopeful view of the day to come. (I like the "feathers in the wind".) Your picture is well-chosen for your poem. Thank you - very well done.

I like how you said the morning fog metamorphosed into puff balls! I've seen those kinds of clouds often and wondered what causes those kinds of clouds. Fun 575 poem. Best wishes in the contest!

We have many foggy morning during the winter months and I have often driven to work in the fog in the past. It is dangerous on the roads and causes man accidents. You brought the blinding fog to life here Beth with your appropriate words, you managed to make it sound romantic! Love Dolly x

This was very cool. I loved the way you had the fog move and then transform into the puff balls scattered across the sky. Showed life and how it changes and morphs from one thing to another. Gretchen

Thank you, Gretchen. The fog had made the drive slow and I was happy to see it rise.

I am a cloud watcher. They change constantly and are so beautiful. Those clouds really do look like puff balls. Big balls of cotton. Nice entry for the 5-7-5 poetry contest. good luck.

I've always love clouds. I was glad to see the fog go because I made driving slow.

Well at least this took your mind off the dental treatment and inspired the verse:) I wish I could think such creative thoughts in the dental chair. This is delightful and I like the way your font matches the puff balls. Have no idea how you do that. I'm still very much old school with my font selection:( Well done, Beth, and good luck! Debbie

If we get in a habit of watching everything around us, it doesn't take long for us to realize there seriously is a constant metamorphosis going on all the time. Thanks for sharing.
