A very good contest entry, full of useful wisdom in poetic form. Too bad the U.N. can't learn this. one should stick to their heartfelt beliefs, but must not cross the line to be viewed as stubborn.

As you know, I don't know the first thing about poetry and read very little besides the few of you I read daily. But this one caught my attention more than most because of it's name 3-6-9-poem. It takes me way back to another era: three, six, nine, the goose drank wine, the monkey chewed tobacco on the streetcar line, the line broke, the monkey got choked, and they all went to Heaven in a little row boat. Clap, clap. It's funny the worthless things that stick in our brains for a lifetime. Thanks for sharing.

As you know, I don't know the first thing about poetry and read very little besides the few of you I read daily. But this one caught my attention more than most because of it's name 3-6-9-poem. Well we are in the same silly mind set. That verse is exactly what I thought too when I saw 3-6-9. Sorry my poem wasn't about monkeys an sweet potatoes. LOL

I hope there is wiggle room for some compromise in Washington, but the government is-pretty one sided. Thank you for the review and comments. Beth

The poem is well-crafted and presented. The message is admirable. This will take lots and lots of prayer, because "hoping" it happens won't cut it at this point.
I hate to be a Debbie-downer, but each day I hear something that sends shivers down my spine; yesterday its name was Matt Gaetz.

Yes, I know. It keeps things getting more unsettling. Isn't he under all kinds investigation. With him for Attorney General they will be not breaks on what might happen. He will do away with the Justice department is what Trump wants. I appreciate the six stars.

I love your advice here, those without the will to compromise, miss out on life. We can't have our own way all the time and when someone meets us half way, we should at least consider the option. My Mother was so very stubborn and often missed our on opportunities because she would not give way, I enjoyed your clever words here Beth, love Dolly x x x

You could be on a business training course with these rules, Beth. Nicely incorporated into the 3-6-9 series, they have pleasing monorhymes and memorable bullet points.
