Hi Yardier
This is a good poem. Its short lines strengthen the emotion of grieving for a loved one that is in Heaven. It shows how hard it is for us to wait for the reunion.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of your day and week.

Ten yers ago today, my daughter left us and I pray that she with my parents and husband are waiting, patiently, for when it is my turn to join them. A lovely poem promising Together Again.

Hi Yardier, what a delightful poem. And the two children in the photo are adorable. This is the first time I have read a vignette. It's beautifully crafted and set out. I love the way it flows and then peters out. Lovely poem.

I certainly believe in the theme of your poem. There is greater joy across the river, yet we shall strive to have a share of the joy of our today. Thanks so much, and good luck in the contest. Well done.

A beautiful poem which spells out, though we have much joy here that we feel will be hard to leave, there is a greater joy we have to look forward to.
Succinct, true and very uplifting. Thank you.

Hi there back at ya! Yes, you could say, I took a sabbatical, changed the oil, rotated the tires and hit the road with a full tank of hopeful expectations.
    I was not disappointed.

Thank you, Ann. I so appreciate the six but more than that, I am encouraged by your insight.
A bit of trivia regarding the photo: The children (grand kids) are fishing from the stump of a massive Giant Sequoia.

Giant Sequoia stump -- just one more reminder that the might might fall, but their existence continues to be felt for many years after them -- good or bad. ann

Thank you so much Sally Law. Yes, indeed, we all want to get 'there'. It's just down the road you know, the one called the 'Life Time Highway.'
What is that old gospel song: 'We shall gather at the river...' I'm sure you know it and are looking forward to that day.
All the very best back to you my friend. Yard
