I guess Jimmy found the right person for himself. I enjoyed reading and remember those early days of dating. It was harsh. LOL Thank you for sharing.

To me. it seemed like visiting a foreign country. (me,)

The next day at school the teasing started. (The following day)

Thank you, Barbara. Jimmy wasn't for me and I was embarrassed that I had spent some on time on the bus kissing someone I wasn't really interested in.

This is very well written, and I enjoyed very much listening to it. Oh those teen years when all those things begin to happen were very difficult for a young ladies. I like the way you have handled the subject and I like your writing very much. have a good day and God bless you.

It seems like you knew what you wanted, and if you didn't, well, you weren't going to just follow the pack. I admire you for that! I was like that, and at the time, it didn't feel great, but later, I was very glad I did. Nicely written, Beth.

I learned to type on a keyboard with blank keys and it is the only way to learn where the letters are. Another fine chapter as you make career choices here Beth, a joy to read, love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly. When I took typing in school, there were no letters on the keys. You are right. That is the only way to learn. I appreciate your comment on my story.

A very well-written (almost) coming-of-age story. I was a bit surprised your mother wanted you to go to parties with Elaine's friends whom you and she didn't know, not sensing that you weren't ready for that. Well written.

Thank you, Wendy, since she knew Elaine's mother and they were kids from her church plus they had moved into our neighborhood, she thought it safe, and that I needed to be more outgoing. I didn't enjoy groups. Mom was an extrovert, and I wasn't.

Oh the high school bus rides after a good ball game. Something I always enjoyed with a certain girl who waited for me afther the shower and change of clothes. Good story. Sounds like Elain had Harmon problems.

Thank you again for the review and another of your precious stars. Yes those ball payers were our heroes. They always had the girls hanging around.

You have an amazing memory. I'm in awe. Not just this piece when you are older, but of the many stories of when you were young.
And your writing is superb. Great work.
Best wishes.

High school was a dud
I was the shortest my first year 5'1" and 6-3 when I graduated
I also could slip under a door at 140 lbs
The day after commencement I flew
PHilly to San Diego to start ten years of service

Thank you, Tom for the review. My grandson has just completed his training in National Guard. I think it is a bad time to be getting into military service. National Guard uses you where they need you and who knows where that might be.

Oh sometimes you hit on memories I would just as soon not recall. lol i recall a certain high school bus trip at night where kissing was involved and I was teased relentlessly the following week. Now i plan on shoving that back into the corners of mind where it came from. lol Good chapter.

Thank you, Marilyn. I seem to pull out all the memories bad and good. I'll put that memory back on ice as well.

It's so strange that one of your mother's primary concerns was not to offend the neighbours and then you were seemingly thrown to the wolves! But all part of growing up I guess and this story captures all the discomfort, embarrassment and stress of the teenage years. Thank you for sharing your excellent account, Beth. take care Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. My mother surprised me by insisting I go but she was naive in some ways to believe all of our neighbors could be trusted.
