This story is so common with the white-collar group. I am not sure AAA has an answer, but I do know God does. I have seen it done so many times within God's people. Let's hope this story has a nice ending. Good one, Beth.

Thank, you, Chuck. The story is based on a true story of friend. I'm glad it didn't happen to me. Thank you for giving me another of you six stars.

I can really feel the emotional stress Marsha is under as she comes to terms with what is happening with her marriage to Trenton. I get the feeling that she wants to still try and make things between this work, but I think this will be a mistake for her. Another excellent piece, Beth, I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you, Jacob, I'm glad you are enjoying this. It's based on a story I know well from friend experience but since I wasn't there I'm having to fictionalize it bit.

"the family appeared to be wealthy" - a narrator would know this, right? Suggestion: "In spite of the family's wealth, theirs was a house of cards."

In the last chapter, Marsha was feeling that a weight had been lifted; now she's having second thoughts, which is so common in a situation like this. I think it's going to get ugly.

Good chapter, Beth.

That you Pam. I did get around to making the change you suggested and I'm glad you took the time to do that. All help is appreciated.

There is nothing wrong with your work. It is very good writing. But I feel, with the flow of events, the last two chapters could've been combined. When "dragged out" too long, the situation may not seem to some to be as dramatic.

I understand what you are saying. I meant to put the intervention into this chapter but it started to get too long so I'll have to get it next time. Thanks for the review and suggestions.

This continues to be interesting. I hope you can show how God can help the father to be willing to work with the team, to cease his "apparent" adultery and the couple to be able to save the marriage.

Thank you, Verna. It is based on my friend's true story. I may have to fictionalize it more. I appreciate your comments.

I agree now is not the time, she needs to put on a great act. I can't wait to read more.

She'd barely gotten home when Trenton called. "Hey, Babe, where were you earlier? (called,)

the wisdom of going through with the intervention, he began. "I've got it all set up with the treatment center. (began,)

I've rented a suite at the Hilton. ('s' in black, and 'uite' in blue)

"I hadn't thought about them. My son is 17. He has expressed concern about his dad's drinking. I'll see what he says. (says")

Trenton or Trendon, you've used both in this post

Thank you, Barbara, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me with some editing mistakes. I found Trenton spelled wrong in two places. I hope there wasn't more.

Confronting someone like they are planning to do is so difficult and can go any number of ways. I hope he accepts the opportunity and their concern and gets the help he needs.

Thank you, Marilyn. It is true these programs don't always go the way you hope.

Well, things are about to get testy! I don't have much to say that's good about rehab facilities since they have done nothing for my granddaughter, but that's not saying it's not worth the effort. I just wish the people involved wouldn't be so wishy-washy when they approach the problem. They want the family to be onboard, but when it's their turn to get tough, things seem to fall apart. I hope all goes well with this one!

Thank you, Carol. These things don't have a great success rate unless the person in question believes they have a problem and are committed to changing their behavior.

Boom, boom, boom. Explosive stuff.
Very well written. I wonder how effective interventions are. I have little faith in rehab programs, but I have very limited first-hand knowledge.
Best wishes.

Thank you, Warren. They don't have a great success rate unless the person in question really accepts that they have problem and want to badly to be rid of it.
