It pays to be famous. That is true. I enjoyed the hidden meaning behind your words. It made me think about what you were writing about rather than just reading for the sake of reading.

As a writer, I take what I write seriously, unless of course I am trying to be funny. Words have consequences. Therefore, thought should be given to what we choose to write.

The fame and everything it brings is never enough to bring happiness and they continue looking in whatever ways they can think of. It happens time and time again. Right now we are watching it happen to Diddy. Thanks for sharing. Great job.

Fortune and fame have a corroding effect on those who attain it too quickly. Opposed to those who grow up with money and power.

Remembering a past when I was on top, made me feel alive and scared,
may we never look back at the replay. Absolutely loved "you must dance to the music on automatic replay". May we all change our dance one day. Loved the poem and look forward to reading more of your stuff

Hi Nolan, the thing about being in the limelight...
is the light doesn't always stay lit...

their are a few movie stars who survived until
old age set in...but you have to be a great actor...
earn a reputation with your fans...you have to always
be smiling on the outside...while depressed on the inside..
is the ay really worth it???

love your poem my sweet friend...and the story told...
picture speaks for itself...very well written...love Linda xxoo

Very true, and your poem astutely presents the other side of the coin of fame and prestige. I think sometimes the most famous are the most lonely. Well written poem.

Hi Nomi, I have returned to Fanstory after several years of absence and it was a delite to see that you are still writing. Well crafted poem about the downfall of fame. Money and fame aren't the root of evil but the love of anything but God will pull you under. Exactly what Satan wants.

That is a very astute statement. Something I have long believed in. I am overjoyed at how many of our contributors here are aware of the realities that life presents.

Yes, people should be careful what they wish for, because when they find it, there are usually way more drawbacks than they ever could have imagined. Great job! Wish I had another star.

I think they are compelled to play up to the godlike adoration they are paid, but I think it's a very lonely place that they occupy, they can't possibly live up that standard, and their deflated ego tells them so, some depend on drugs for reassurance, and that can kill them, and many it does, beautifully written Nomi, blessings Roy

You make a great point in this. I recently read the autobiography of Henry Winkler, who played the Fonz. It was hard for him to get roles in the future because he was stereotyped as the Fonz. Also, that's how the public recognized him. He was the Fonz, not Henry Winkler. He also had dyslexia, which most people didn't realize, so it made it hard for him to read the scripts. The public didn't know about that struggle. Excellent rhyme, and you really get across what a person goes through to achieve fame and how it affects him. judi

Thank you. We see the story being played out time after time, so, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that fame as it is today is not for the weak of heart, or easily misled.

Yes, there are so many instances of drug overdoses and suicides among the celebrities, too. It isn't an easy life. You're welcome. judi

This a very detailed poem on the dark struggles of being famous. Excellently written , it's as though it's from personal experience, one raises the question!
I really like how you've repeated the autoplay parts with different phrasing, very well done. I really enjoyed it.
Best Wishes
Nicki
