Hello Teri, Many thanks for your kind review. Our men were told to shoot them at the end of the war. Only one horse came home because it's owner paid for it. The soldiers wouldn't shoot them, instead they let them go and Arabs looked after them, they are great horse lovers. Love, Kay.

This is another beautiful story demonstrating your love of horses. This horse knew her master was in pain and did what she could to help save him. The horse's name was Hope. In your notes you say the horse's name was Help. Either way, this is a delightful loop poem. Best wishes in the contest.

I really enjoyed this! I love how you show the loyalty of his horse. I found that so touching. Your poem is so well written. The rhythm of it makes the story more interesting and easier to read. You share the journey so well.
Beautifully done!

Hello Michael, Many thanks for reading. Glad you enjoyed. After the war in the middle east, the men of the Light Horse Brigade were told to shoot the horses, they wouldn't so they let them go and the Arabs (great horse lovers) looked after them. Thank you for reading. Kay xx

Skilfully done, Kay, with your trademark loop poem! I think you have personal experience of horses and riding and this shines through your sensitive, descriptive detail and heroic ending. They are truly wonderful creatures, so much brighter than, perhaps, most of us can ever truly realise. Thank you so much for sharing your dramatic and entertaining verse. Good luck! Love Debbie xx

Hi Debbie, Thanks for reading my poem. Based on the Australian Light Horse Brigade who carried our men in the war. They were told to shoot the horses because they couldn't get them back to Oz. The men refused and then let them go. The Arabs (great horse lovers) looked after them. Brave men when they took the wells at Beersheba. Yes, I owned a riding school and heavily involved with Riding for the Disabled. Love, Kay xx

Of course, you know all about heroic horses and how dedicated horses are to their people. I love that you call her name, Hope. Great looping as always PLUS you kept the challenging rhyme scheme! Best wishes in the contest!
