This was a great chapter. You did well. Miranda did the best she could. I know you spent a lot of time deciding how to bring back Dougie to life. One teeny spag. Waylon doesn't (k)now whether to cry

Thank you so much for this. I figured Dougie just needed to appear. No real build up just blink and he's there. I really appreciate the awesome review and the six. Thanks for the spag catch. Gretchen

I feel so much for Waylon. He's a good kid, and has a good and honest relationship with Miranda. Dougie must have a good reason, but kids don't see things the same way as adults, and end up hurt the most. Well written.

Thank you. Right now, Waylon is filled with questions, but the minute he sees Dougie, he'll be so happy. And that's what Muranda is afraid of. Thank you! Gretchen

Miranda is really in a tough place and so is Waylon. Miranda knows she loves Waylon as if he was her son. Waylon may not trust any part of her love if his father dumps him again, although he probably won't want to go with him. Dougie is a piece of worthless human flesh.

Dougie is a walking talking self absorbed red flag. He's here for a reason and it isn't Waylon. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Waylon is a good kid. Dougie is the stuff on the bottom of your shoe. Reminds me of my soon to be ex. He wants what he wants. When he gets what he needs he is fine, but whenever he hits a bump it is "everyone's against him for no reason whatsoever". So, he runs away, into drugs, or gambling, or another woman , anything to avoid having to deal with the problem. And the problem is him! Karen

There are a lit of Dougies and ex-husbands out there. No responsibility for themselves. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

When someone disappears for two years without a word, it is hurtful to the family and they just want answers. In the end there is no excuse and Waylon will not forgive his Father for this kind of unnecessary absence. But then again, does he have a valid excuse?

Just one edit here Gretchen:
(Waylon doesn't (Know) whether to cry or laugh).

Another fine chapter, love Dolly x

Thank you so much. Dougie was involved in that investment scheme in the last book. He was more than likely in over his head. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

Ugh! You are the queen of making up "hate-able" men. Matthew in Coyote Boys, Dougie in the Miranda Chronicles, to name just two. They're villains, but they're not just cardboard cut-out villains. You give them depth, so I can TRULY hate them!!

Good progress with this chapter (Aaron, Aaron, Aaron; will he EVER get his act together??! Oy.), and great the way you had Waylon react to the news about his father. (read: sperm donor; "father" is the LAST thing he is.)

One little spag here:

Waylon doesn't **now** whether to cry or laugh. (know)

Great job, Miranda...er, um, I mean Gretchen!! xoxox

Dougie is a narcissist. That's his personality. But Matthew was Satan incarnate. You wait until I get my hands on Jane Babies. Lol. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

Another excellent chapter, carried so well by the dialogue which is superb and never without an injection of humour. One edit: No, he's going to leave it to me to b(r)eak the news. Thanks for sharing, Gretchen. Debbie
