It's cute and it does tell a nice little story about them. The structure, if you're interested, could use a bit more consistency with the rhyme from stanza to stanza. It changes and fades at times. But, overall, this is good work.

Funny characters those 3. I can relate about the cotton candy, having just visited the Minnesota state fair. The misadventures of these 3 make for a hilarious poem. Thanks for sharing. :)

Hi, Harry.
Sorry, but I can't grace this with an Excellent rating. It is mildly amusing and I'm a dog-lover so I enjoyed the variety of antics the three canines got up to. However, it's at the lower end of the skill rating. You simply pluck a few rhyming words to suit your purpose and string them together. No need to worry about sense because it's a nonsense poem.

In short it's doggerel - bad pun intended. Maybe if you labelled it as Children's verse?

The story was clever and these rhymes are spot on. My favorite element, though, was the selection of names. Thanks for a humorous lighthearted read. Well done.

I enjoyed this lighthearted poem. It should be a children's book. The illustrations would be really cute and funny too! I'm sure my son would really enjoy it!

Hi!
I really liked this poem. I've always had a weakness for narrative poems. And I also happen to have a serious weakness for dogs, so Freckle's antics were fun to read.

I really liked the detail you went into about the trio's day. That being said, I think your poem could be even stronger if you used different synonyms in certain places. One example is in the line "looking at the moon". You could maybe replace it with a word like "gazing" or "admiring". One other example is in the line "And Shmekel wanted". Wanted could be replaced with a stronger synonym. That being said, this is still a very strong piece, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you for sharing, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Best wishes,
Keely

This is a cute poem about the characters' various ambitions. The seasons come and go, fun and obligations rival each other, and the dog still just wants a bone. I enjoyed reading this.
