Lea,
Wow! You've penned an excellent entry in the ABC Poetry Contest. Each of your newest poem read like creative spoken word poetry that would be welcomed at any open mic night.
I especially like the following two lines:
Nectar of new energy overflows only time can see
Observe that which slipped ancient bones decades gone
All the best,
Eugene

I liked this poem, Lea. I'm just a little unsure of what you meant with the word "slipped." The interpretation I'm going with is that a lusty, careless youth caused an old person to slip and fall years ago. This kind of thing should be expected of youth, whose minds are not fully developed, but they are like sponges and soak up the lessons of life gradually over time. The wisdom thus gained is rapturous to him when he is old, and he's pleased.
Although our bodies may be letting us old folk down now, our minds are much wiser through experience, which in many ways, makes life more pleasurable. - Jim

Hi Jim thank you again for your wisdom your kind comment and for your insights always a pleasure to see you here! When I put the word slipped I meant in terms of the character the woman losing grip of her own emotional heat if you will and mixing with the others so slipped and burning her fingers pleasurably in remembrance if you will. Thank you again I hope you have the most amazing day I look forward to getting back in the swing of my second book which I currently have a release date coming up very quickly for the first one I will let you know thank you again my friends have a great day!

This is a well written abc poem, Lea with the lust of youth and their 'sponge gripped minds' - love that description, but not forgetting the wisdom that we collect over decades of life. Great presentation and good luck in the contest.
cheers,

True wisdom comes from God. Yes, the young often do gather knowledge like a sponge. It's life experiences that teach us to use that knowledge. I enjoyed reading this contest entry and good luck with the contest.

A strong and interesting celebration of elderly wisdom in your ABC verse. Some wonderful imagery of the young with their "sponge-gripped minds" and the cyclical nature of wisdom of the aged forever retained in its cape of rapture." Small edit: n(ai)vety.
Well done, Lea, and good luck! Debbie

Very cool and mystical vibe to this one. Two spags, though: Naivety (a before i - though it certainly SOUNDS like it should be the other way!!) and you need an apostrophe in wisdoms. (Wisdom's)
Good luck in the contest!! xo

It seems to me you are saying what is happening today is a good thing. Things have come full circle and young people's minds are soaking up knowledge. There is a new energy flowing and the much like that which flowed from the philosphers of old. Things have come full circle. It does seem knowledge is increasing. Your poetry is deep.
