LOL A very cute and funny story. Congratulations on your win in the True Humor flash contest! Wow! Dennis the Menace was a favorite of mine and the nickname seems to fit perfectly. Loved the story.

Hey you, and thank you so very much. I don't write enough prose, as it is hard enough to keep my poetry stat up there. I see you are in the top ten. Good for you. I am so happy for you.
Thanks again for the kind comments, my sweet friend. Love, Debi

Hi Teri, yes, Denny was the baby and he was witty, charming, spoiled and cute so he got by with everything. LOL
Thanks for the very kind comments for my story about Denny. By the way, someone told me that the car that I was thinking of was a 56 Chevy, not a 59. I just remembered what it looked like, but I got the picture from Pinterest.
I don't even know if my sister and brother in-law have a picture of it anymore.
Thanks again, dear friend for the awesome review and kind comments.
Love, Debi

A very good picture of a 1956 Chevy. The 59 had a much larger backseat.
A great story of life was like way back then. Very few drive-ins today for making out.
Thank you for sharing.

Hey you, you are ruining my story, LOL, just kidding. So you think it is a 56 Chevy? I need to know for sure because I should change the name of it then. The picture is just how I remember his car, but I got it off of Pinterest, who names it a 1959. So I am not debating or arguing, but need to know for sure.
Thank you so much for pointing that out to me, my friend, as I do want to get it right. Thanks a lot for the great review too! You are awesome! Love, Debi

What a great real life story of a mischievous younger brother and his little prank at the drive in movie becoming part of family lore thereafter -difficult to write a humor and especially humor flash

I love this and could just imagine little Denny popping up and spoiling all the fun! What a little menace, indeed, but a great story to repeat over the years. I wonder if he's still mischievous in adulthood? I hope so. Thanks for sharing and good luck! Debbie

Thanks Debbie for this very kind review and comments, and yes, Denny did carry his mischievousness into adulthood. He was a charming man, to say the least. Thanks again.

This a great story that I really got a good giggle out of. Denny sounded like a sweet boy but also mischievous! It's a lovely story to pass on and get loads of laughs every time the story is told. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. I enjoyed reading and having raise four sons and the youngest born 8 years after the closest brother, I can understand how this happened.

This was a fun and entertaining story! I got a real kick out of it. I am, however, sorry to read about the tragedies you described in your author's notes. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thanks so much Jessi. I appreciate your very kind comments.
I didn't mean that to be a downer for a fun contest, but I had so many ask whatever became of them, so I removed that in my notes about the deaths.
It didn't feel right to me. So thanks again.

Love that sweet car and your wonderful true story, mystery writer. I laughed at the drive-in scene and mischievous little Denny who stole your family's heart. I understand why. His untimely death is heartbreaking. Extra hugs for your loss.
Sending you my best today as always and best wishes in the contest.

Sally, I thank you for your kind comments and review.
Also for the thoughtfulness about my brother and Josette's death.
They were both so hard to endure, but that has been a while.
So thanks again.

A fun story, and it is good that it still gives you warm memories. How sad that your brother-in-law died in such tragic circumstances at such a young age. Well written story. Best wishes for the contest.

Wendy, thanks so much for the awesome review and comments.
I greatly appreciate your kindness.
(It was my brother, Denny that was killed in that crash that night. I will go back and make that more clear in my notes, but thanks for the kind words)
