Oh wow, what a haunting story, Jim. I can feel your own loss guiding the emotions of Oliver. The one time he leaves her alone, it happens. Too bad he couldn't have foreseen that ahead of time, but that's how such gifts work, I suppose.
You do such an excellent job of using the flashback and of describing emotion. Great dialogue.

Thank you so much. Yes, I tried to use my emotions following my wife's death. I wanted to make it a might longer, but feared no one would read it and didn't want to split the chapter.

Oh my!! This started out being a beautiful romance, and then the twist at the end. You did an excellent job writing this. I enjoyed reading and couldn't find any way to improve this post.

This is excellent story. It is sad about Jean and what happened to her. I haven't read all the chapters to this book but this very well written and interesting. I'll try not to miss any more of them.

The chapters have been spread apart. I'll have to work on doing the next chapter in a more timely manner.
