If one does a lot of driving one learns anywhere is ok, as long as it's private, physical desperation, the bladder's no that big, particularly in a little one, my mother came camping with us and she took fluid tablets, that was hairy, she wouldn't go behind a tree! Heh heh, well done, Esther, blessings Roy

We took Morgan on road trips galore. Funny about your mom. At least she went camping! I grew up in Congo and we traveled a lot on the dirt roads to and from boarding school. Girls one side, boys the other.

I was the black sheep of my family, but I'm thankful to The Lord I straightened out before their death, and they got to have some time with my daughter. Just before her stroke which ultimately killed her, my mom said tht she had never had a better time with my daughter.

I have so many Grandpa stories to share. I am going to try to write as many as I can and share them with her brothers Ben and Owen.

I am thankful that you have many grandpa stories. I on the other hand, do not. Both of my grandfathers were deceased by the time I was born. I do, however, have some tremendous father stories. My father was older than most of my friends grandfather. He was born in 19 five. I miss him. Thanks for sharing your stories Esther.

Esther,
Thank you for sharing such an endearing but , also, tragic revelation.
I feel deeply for your loss. Deeply. I have not lost a grandchild and I think the grief would be so overwhelming it would stop me in my tracks. When I say overwhelming grief, not only do you suffer a child!s loss but you have to see your daughter or son go through interminable pain which will never abate. A double whammy for Grandparents.
I remember well when my then 9 year old daughter suffered a brain AVM and Dr didn't think she'd make it through the night. I held my son close as he wept like a baby and there was nothing I could do to soothe the pain. Thankfully she survived and is a vibrant young lady in the military( though I wish she wasn't in the military. )
Cute and precocious as they discover the world before them and how to find solutions.
My condolences. A well written short story.

Thanks Jimi. I want to write as many Morgan stories as I can for her brothers. Ben was 3 when she died and watched everything.

LOL, I can relate to this story. I had to chaperone a Brownie troop to a weekend camping trip and the outhouse was disabled. I had to assign trees to the girls to use. You told the story well.

I'm so sorry for your loss! But what a wonderful idea. This brief dialogue captures a charming and relatable moment between grandpa and his granddaughter. You share a warm and endearing picture of a their relationship filled with love and patience.

More stories to come. Grandpa was enchanted by that rascally imp. We miss our Munchin.

Hahaha! This is really funny.
Side note: the last time I peed in the woods, I got poison ivy on arm from resting it against a tree for balance. (That was about six years ago. Grandpa has taught Munchkin a life skill!!)

Morgan was such a light in our eyes for her seven years. Our first grandchild. I think I will go looking for a picture of her to put with the stories.

Your readers would love that!

What a cute story:-) I remember the first time my father pulled over on the interstate and had me squat down behind the car with all the headlights whizzing by just a few feet from me. I learned quickly to use a bathroom every time I had a chance and hold it on the road.
The comment of the woman passing by made this story:-)

I just added a picture. I am starting a collection of stories of Morgan for her brothers about her short life. The story is true as told to me by my hubby, she was a quick one. Figured it out in her third try.

Hi Esther,
A charming story about you and your grandfather on a trip together. Wise grandpa figures out a way to help you out of your dilemma, but you have to figure out what he means along the way.
I like the way you used dialogue to move your plot along.
Take care,
Rhonda

It was actually our grand child Morgan and not myself. She was 3 or 4 at the time. She died at age 7 falling from a tree. I wrote a story "Missing my Munchkin" somewhere in my portfolio. Esther

Oh nooooooo!!! I am so sorry!!! It's still a charming story about her and her grandfather.

Hi, Esther
This is a cute story. What person does not remember having to pee really bad in the car? But we always seem to make it home without peeing without peeing in the car.
It's harder now as an elderly adult. We have to pee just as often as children do., it takes us four times longer to get there.
In my case, I have to pee more often because my bladder is only half the size of a normal bladder.
But, I swear there's been times where I could not believe I made it home. Just like when I was a kid.
And doesn't seem like you always get stuck in traffic when you have to go to the bathroom real badly. I remember so many times saying I hope the driver doesn't get a ticket because for sure I would pee on myself. Lol
I enjoyed reading your story
Good job. Thank you for sharing.
