Hello Barbara,
that was an unexpected turn of events with Sami's mom. Things like that make a story interesting, a little side bar so to speak. Sometimes I wonder if Noah doesn't overdue his role a bit as a protector. I wonder if he's ever found himself in love before. I'm curious what is happening with the bad guys, and if the good guys are going to be able to recover any of the girls who have been basically sold into the sex trade. Another interesting chapter gal. Well done.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Thank you for the kind review. More about Noah's background will become known when he's ready to talk.

Risky business.

. "I think it's blackberry cobbler time. Anybody agree?"

Is this an offer cause I'm ready for some cobbler. Just saying.

The line about hospitals are so true. On my watches they wake these felons up all night long.

Great read!

Thank you for the kind review. While on vacation, by son, Jeff, he's a chef, made blackberry cobbler and served it with homemade vanilla ice cream. Either by themselves would have been great, but together. Needless to say I have a couple pounds to take off. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

A very well written chapter as always, and I am glad Sami had a chance to see her mother. I hope the visit wasn't observed by others who would do her harm!

This is a great chapter with a lot of heart as Noah breaks the rules to let Sami see her injured mother. Sami's father has a special place for her in his heart and their closeness is realistically portrayed. Pulling open the door and setting off the alarm sounds about par for a middle of the night return.

Hi, Barbara

It must take so much discipline to write a novel. I can see the discipline it took just to write this chapter. I normally write poetry and it's a little bit easier.

This chapter gave me a better feel of interaction between the characters. I don't think I got the impression before this chapter that Sami was being guarded by all these people. So you did a good job bringing that out in this chapter

I'm curious to see where this budding romance is going to go between Sami and Noah

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the kind review. With research and everything, it takes a couple of years to actually complete a novel.

That was a good idea, Barb, to have a change of pace. This adds a new dimension to the story, and gives the reader something new to think about.

Well this is action-packed from the start! I like the way you maintain that sense of mystery and tension so that the reader is anxious to know how poorly Sami's mother is. With some relief when her condition isn't life-threatening. The attention to detail with the escort is also well done. Once back in the house, Noah returns to his more professional self, refusing to get drawn into any discussion with Sami about their intimacy. Then the alarm going off at the end is a great artistic device not to allow the tension of the chapter to dissipate. Nicely done, Barbara! Debbie

The story is doing a fine job of showing the crew's humanity. As tough as Noah is, he showed a tender and compassionate side in allowing Sami to visit with her mom and to see her dad at the hospital. This story has the feel of authenticity that a great story has to have in order to be successful.

Sami inadvertently trips the alarm and all hell, and all their weapons are out. Earlier an accident has happened to Sami's mum, and in a rare show of emotion Noah is caught out by Sarah, realising that he may not be as tough as he appears, well done Barbara blessings Roy
