This is in your notes. Did you mean spun rather than span?
" A diving bell, made of silk web, span to protect air bubbles pulled down from the surface of the water"
That is very interesting about the air bubbles. That gives a spider oxygen to breathe I guess. Nature is amazing.

Fascinating! I never knew these spiders existed. I do find myself wanting to know more as I read to poem. What does it mean? Do we love the spider? Are we frightened by her?
