Thanks, Teri...My mom faced breast cancer three times before it finally claimed her whole body. She was a fighter to the end. I don't think I am as brave as her.

The story is so surreal. Cancer is devastating when it happens to anyone. You pray every time that things are always benign. Like your short story. I can feal her pain.

Thank you so much, Rosemary. I stood by my mom's side three times as she battled the cancer... only to have it return. I don't think I could be as brave as she was.

I thought this was great. I can relate! I think many can. I hate the wait for the results. The inner turmoil you show here is so real as she grapples with her own mortality. I love that she seeks comfort from the memory of her mother but it also makes it more real. The sudden relief and joy upon hearing the doctor's news was great. I could feel her relieft and the tension flow away. Well done!

Good. This is a solid set-up, with just enough information and detail so that readers can get a full grasp of what's happening. Also, the readers learns about the conflict, hope, drama of the past, and then gets a happy ending.
Well done.

Sorry this is so late, Lance. Life's been a whirlwind of late. I can't tell you how pleased I am with your review and the stars. I was stunned and deeply appreciative since it was about my mother. Thank you!

This short story will evoke some tears from readers. We immediately feel sorry for the narrator who lost her mother to cancer. Now her daughter is back in the same office, fearful. We are so pleased to have a happy ending. A nicely told story in just 100 words. Rod

Thanks for the review and comments, Rod. Hope you didn't use up too many of those tissues. LOL As for me, my tests a few days ago said benign so the story popped into my head. Have a great day!
