An the beauty of God is He can love us wherever we are, and His love is something that doesn't need legs to reach us, it only needs willingness from us to receive, beautifully written Mike, blessings Roy

Very emotional, raw and beautiful work. I'm sorry for your loss. One day I hope you'll get the hug you so desperately want. Planting a tree is a great idea.

Death too young is always hard to come to terms with, year after year. Your poem is extremely poignant, especially the last words:
my arms can't reach heaven. kay

She's beautiful and precious. I'm sorry, Mike. This Sunday is Orthodox Easter when I will say Christ is Risen and sing, "Christ is Risen from the grave, trampling down on death, by death. Here we think of Shyona's death but God sees her new life. I pray she is dancing with Angels, in God's Eternal Love.
Best to you.
Alex

This is a lovely poem of remembrance and love. You capture that unfulfilled longing beautifully with your simple words. I love the last line, acknowledging just how far your arms would have to reach.
