Just read this poem and enjoyed it and the image it is paired with. It carries a haunting beauty. I am afraid when reading it I was also haunted by a memory. A memory of the contest brief I was trying to work out which emotion you were referring to, but I believe you are writing about a lack of emotions. Unfortunately, the brief does state to pick one emotion and write about that. Not sure if this will get by the CECC.

Your use and command of words impresses me every time. You paint such a vivid picture full of emotions, it all flows so smoothly and naturally, and has so much meaning. Once again, an exceptional effort.

This is so powerful, Jessica! I think this should do well in the contest but I noticed that people are able to enter the contests and still add to their Napowrimo book. To me you described the heaviness of depression which causes that indifference!
