One phrase that came to mind is arrogance says it's all powerful and cannot possibly be ovrrruled, which Chief Harrison is behaving like that, a bulletproof tyrant. With a mentality like a hitter or Stalin, good to see that Jake has seen Layla, and Allie is getting her memory back, well done, blessings Roy

Yes, the Chief is about to get meet his match and get what he deserves. And a little bit of blooming romance in the spring doesn't hurt anyone, right? Thanks so much Roy.

I love when things start to fall in place. This is great chapter and I can't wait to read more. I have a feeling you don't lack a lot finishing this book. I want to see you getting some of these in print. I know know if you had the agent you'd be famous.

Hooray! I was hoping Jake could just take Layla but I know you have lots of ends to bring together. Your bad guys are so easy to dislike so it was fun to see how Garth put Harrison in his place.

And Garth isn't finished with Harrison yet either. Not much more to go, but it's been fun. I posted one chapter and I think the next will be the end. Thanks for sticking it out with me, Helen.

Wonderful chapter and excellent writing. Two romances warming up, and Richard H is about to come a cropper and get what he deserves!

Edit: full stop after "he growled and glared at the cowboy"

Someone's in trouble and doesn't realize it yet! Glorious!
I like your two little romances shaping up here.
All looks great!
In the following paragraph exchange, I couldn't get what the response "damn right we did" was in reference to or what he meant. I read it a bunch of times and I just wasn't getting it. It might just be me. But I thought I would ask.
"No, Mr. Harrison, I'm afraid you're mistaken." Garth extended his hand to Harrison as a friendly gesture.
Ignoring Garth's hand, Harrison walked around to his chair and sat. "Damn right we did," he growled and glared at the cowboy

I enjoyed the way this chapter shaped up. Harrison gets a taste of Garth Woodman and Layla finds out Jake is alive, and assuring her everything will be over soon. Suspense still exists about how Alyssa will feel when she remembers who she is and learns who Troy is.
You are the true mastermind storyteller who has kept me at my computer for longer periods than I had ever intended. I can't seem to read fast enough, as you leave the reader totally satisfied by answering all the questions and filling in all the gaps. This is my kind of joy reading.

Thank you so much, Lorraine. Can you believe the story is about to wrap up? What will we do with ourselves? I posted another chapter and I believe the one I am writing will be the end. Two weeks and a book later... I'm thrilled and happy that you enjoyed it too.

I'm afraid I'm coming in late here. But what a well written and fast moving story. Clearly, there are many characters and a complex plot in this crime mystery with undercover police work. That you can produce a chapter a day as intricate and flawless as this (I couldn't find one error) is very impressive. Well done! Keep up the excellent work! Debbie
