I enjoy all these stories of your family, and now of your parents and you. They are written very clearly and vividly, and one can imagine the characters and the surroundings very well. It's a nice insight into the times past with such things as ice boxes.
Well done.
Wendy
Edit: and knit little bootees the (and) sweaters for the baby.

Glover (,) not ever having been around a pregnant female(,); first two sentences of Lucille you can't be doing...need question marks at the end;
Being pregnant doesn't (no apostrophe after the word); invalid out of (a) person; there (were) also molasses; generous with the lard (no capital letter for lard); mother('s) cornbread though; In the evening when (it??) was too late to work; bootees (and) sweaters for the baby; would later (embroider); Glover, honey (needs a ? at the end. Otherwise, an excellent story, Beth. I like the news stories which capture the age and tragedies so vividly. Take care Debbie

Lucille has wonderful energy positive energy being pregnant. Just her spunk give us me enthusiasm.
Glover and her seem to have a very caring relationship.

I understand where Glover is coming from. I guess from Lucille's point of view it's a little overcaring. The news that you've included in here is fascinating that you introduced in a newspaper draws the reader more. A great approach. I will have to read the previous chapters...writing them down

As with each previous installment of your works, the story gets better and better. As a sidenote, my mom always told the story when she worked for General Electric and they let the workers out to see the Zeppelin overhead. Now they shoot rockets and many don't care! Evidentially, this birth will go well as, thankfully, you are here!

Thank you Jim. I so pleased that you seem to enjoy my stories. I think it would have been neat to have see the Zeppelin. I hope she didn't witness the explosion. I watched the recreation of what happened on one of the The Walton shows. John boy was there.

I missed that episode and I love The Waltons, all except the last episode which left me with a bad feeling. Thank God, my mom did not see the explosion in person!

I enjoyed reading about the current events in this post. the details about daily life puts the reader into the time period. Can't wait to read about your delivery. I was a breech birth and so was my daughter.

Thank you for the review and comments. Writing this sort of makes me feel I'm bringing my parents back to life. At times I miss them. They were an interesting pair.

In those days, although very normal, having a baby was dangerous. I enjoyed reading. I can't wait to see if this little one makes it into this world safely. I do hope so. This is a good write.

Thank you Barbara. I'm glad like my story. Things often did go wrong, sometimes for the mother and and often the baby. Sometimes neither of them survived.

Thank you Dolly, I know my parents well enough to imagine their words and actions. I know you wouldn't believe me if I told you I heard it all from the womb. LOL

ceiling the rooms (sealing)
CokaCola (CocaCola)

Because the story is written in earlier years, please forgive me if you meant to spell the words like you did.

As for the story. I love it, especially when we know it's your birth that's about to happen. What a wonderful story to share with the reader and your own children. It's great!

Thank you Carol. I know better. I don't know why I spelled it like that I guess I was thinking he was calking the ceiling instead of sealing the walls and I should know how to spell CocaCola even though they did claim in had Coke in it back then. It really appreciate the review and the heads up on the spags.

Thank you Wayne, I really appreciate the review. It is a wonder women didn't fear giving birth since it is true many died but I think most of the went into the process assuming everything would work out. THey many have gotten scared if things started to go badly.
