Hello Jim,
well done on this moving chapter. I kind of figured something would happen to the sticky note, which would explain why they were both unhappy when Allen came to the door. Obviously they haven't gotten a chance to know him yet, or they would have known there was a good reason for him missing the game. I'm glad all was forgiven. It sucks that his dad passed away, but it gave Ginnie a chance to express her concern. Thanks for sharing this.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Thanks so much for your great review and the 6, Tom. Much appreciated. We will soon see how strong her trust is in Alan and gain some more insight into her character.

Great chapter save for not sharing a kiss to end it
Yes, I suspect it is on the way

Have no fear. Kisses will eventually come once she learns to trust him.

I know Yogi Bear is pretty smart (though his namesake didn't appear to be all that bright), and Smoky the Bear is pretty smart. Are bears smart as a rule? I don't know.

Except for the father's death, this chapter went the way I thought it would. Alan explaining how and why he missed the game, Ginnie and Tommy understanding and them bonding a bit.

The father's death to me was unexpected. I thought he woud pull through, but the writer has other notions.

I'm looking forward to the ensuing chapters. Good stuff,
John

Ginnie's been forgiving for now. Let's really put her faith in him to the test and see how she responds. In so doing, we'll learn a lot more about what makes her tick.

This is very sad and emotional and, although things looked grim, it's always so shocking when that news comes through. You capture this perfectly, Jim, and Ginnie's response...so moving, as though the hug is a cumulative one for all the hardship he's been experiencing. He's got a good one there alright! Your lovely story moves on with ease and interest. Very enjoyable and not one error found:)) Take care Debbie

It is shocking, even though the dad that he knew has been largely gone for a long time now.

We're about ready for a major shift in the story that will really put Ginnie's faith in him to the test. We will learn what makes her tick.

A very well written chapter. Alan is a super nice guy, even in the midst of hardship and intense emotions. You even let me give a full explanation to Tommy about his dad and the incident.

This slice of life story is going really well. This chapter will make readers tear up.

Thanks very much, Lance. I guess he felt it would mean more if Tommy understood the stakes.

I think you will appreciate a change of pace coming next.

Well, well, well. Changes in Alan's life left and right.
I assume there will be an inheritance, small maybe, but enough to support the business a while. There 'should' be a lawsuit against the facility, or workman's company. But I think it's 50-50 whether you will go that route.
Best wishes.

There will likely be a lawsuit before this story is over, but maybe not what you may think.

This change is pretty tame in comparison to what's coming next. Stay tuned.

This is evolving very well. Tommy is totally invested in Alan. Ginny is just a good mom and is a good neighbor, and neither one of them shows much interest that way yet. His Dad dying will create a slight bond. I will keep reading. Karen

I think you will appreciate the direction the story is about to take, Karen. I don't think you will have seen this coming in quite the way that it comes. I hope not anyway.

No spoilers. I will keep reading. I write, you write, you read, I read. Life goes on happily. :-)
