Very timely piece. Thank you for writing and posting.
I wonder when the first AI generated submission will win FanStory contest.
If it figures out just a couple algorithms concerning winning entries, it won't be long after that, I predict.
Best wishes.

And should that happen, which unfortunately I tend to agree with your summation that someone will stoop to that low level, I hope Tom immediately tosses them off the site so fast and so unceremoniously their head spins! Appreciate the review.

This is a very informative writing. I have already had concerns about AI. This story gives me more concerns about this technology. You laid out your concerns with AI well. Very informative piece. Nice job.

This is an interesting post. A two-headed dragon may even help illustrate the dangers of technology in the practice of war as well. I must admit, my brother works with an AI-based company and does well financially now. My biggest gripe with AI is tax-based right now. Apparently American President Biden hired 87,000 to 88,000 new IRS agents to "help" process tax forms last year, and for some reason AI was also brought in, supposedly to shake down 'deadbeat' millionaires who weren't paying their fair share of taxes. But instead what happened was I got three letters from three different IRS agents in three different states claiming I earned nearly $4,000 more, and they were going to take another 60 days to study everything, but in the meantime I supposedly owed $339 due to penalties and errors. The letters had an extra number in my address, and I sent back a copy of everything they sent me and what they supposedly required based on the IRS website. I never did see my tax refund. I guess we will have to try again before taxes are due this year. All those agents had to do was look at my w-2s, but if they were letting AI dictate their responses, I would agree with you that AI is replacing people's ability to think and do their own work.
Suggestion:
misinformation concerning AI being widely dissiminated
I think you mean: disseminated

I wonder if the powers that be know what they are doing? I know that many autocrats in the past have used totalitarian methods to control the masses, so far they've done it by fear, but this is different, more subtle, and tempts the ego, mmmh, interesting, it resembles the takeover by machines written by sci fi writers,,well done, blessings Roy

Sometimes it appears the intent of AI is to control the masses. Appreciate your comments and the review.

All of this is so scary. My brother, an engineer, retired a few months back and came to visit last week. During our many discussion on different issues, mostly family related, be also discussed AI. We both agreed that not matter how one looks at it, it isn't good. Thank you for continuing to share this with us. This information, the real information, needs to get out there.
