I emotionally reacted to your poem. There is a truth in your poem for too many children in the world.
I like the image your paired with the poem. I like how everything is in shades of grey, it helps set the emotional resonance for the poem.
Good luck with the contest.

Deeply moving, eyes are the windows to the soul. Children's eyes are expressive and such pain digs deep. You chose the perfect picture to top your heart wrenching poem. An awesome combination.

This world is an incredibly sad place for many millions of little ones, and it shouldn't be so. Excellent theme, words and photo. Best wishes for the contest.

Interesting write. This piece of poetry lends itself to more questions than it answers.
I think you are going to take this! We shall see together! Good work.

It depends on what kind of childhood some people had, whether it was good or sad. It is what makes a person. But people change their lives for good. Nice poem . Good luck!

Wow, what a powerful picture and words. This makes me think of all the children in Israel that have been killed. War is so senseless. Your picture is great for your words. Very good job.

What pain, sorrow, or unhappiness lies within this young child's heart and soul, and why do tears always spill from his eyes? A few words to say so much. Good luck in the contest.

I like verse that make us think beyond the words which this one does. Sometimes we bottle up so much as we get older that we forget the very natural and therapeutic act of crying as a means to address sadness and, hopefully move on. But that child inside us needs to have a voice. I hope IO haven't gone too far astray. Nicely done here with even an internal rhyme. Well done and good luck! Debbie
