Wow! That really is a jack of all trades when you juggle that many professions. A part-time dentist and a blacksmith - that could hurt, lol!

You should have drawn up a family tree to attach to this story, as I was pretty confused by the end of it. That's a LOT of family members!

How did you come about all of this information? Was it all passed down through family members? I still don't know everything there is to know about my family - which is probably best:-)

Thanks for sharing. Good luck writing this.

Thank you Pam, When I was a kid, I asked a lot of questions. I rememeber my grandfather well. I've actually watch him pull teeth with no pain killer. Poor people around would came to him because he had the tools and would do it for free. Later in the last few years I've interested in Genealogy but all the people I mention by name were people I knew personally. I'm guess I didn't mention to many names. My mom's family was confusing to me. I've never even met all of their children and they are my half first cousins.

Interesting facts about your family and ancestors. I love to read your history and its happenings. Especially if it's about the surrounding area of Tennessee.

This is a well-written piece of work. However, I have to say that to me it doesn't read quite as the start of a book, but rather as a second or third chapter. I feel the deletion of the beginning up after the KKK should be possible. kay

Thank you Katherine, I appreciate the review and suggestion that I take away the first several paragraphs. I respect your suggestion and I will give it some thought. It will mean I'll need to add some later material, in other to make sure there is 2000 words but prehaps I should.

Thank you Barbara. I appreciate the comments. My family is pretty ordinary but we almost go back far enough to be a period piece. LOL Beth

She had seen the Appellations .... the Appalachian Mountains

Oh wow, Beth...You've unfolded an outstanding story detailing your family's background. It was a pleasure to read. How life has changed. I doubt most people today would ever be able to endure what your family faced. Great job!

Thank you Carol. I think I had that word spelled a little closer to right. The spell checked turned it into some else. :LOL Thanks for seeing that. Yes, people today would have a problem with that. It was a little better five years later when I came along but not that much.

I have seen it done. We called it water witching. However it works. I like your story. Yes, my grandmother's people was cheated out of their lands and moved to Oklahoma. (Red Man). Thanks to that double crossing Andrew Jackson. However it is what it is and everyone has a history. I enjoyed the write/

Thank you for the excellent review and six stars. I appreciate it. I imagine most people who bought the land never realized who it had belonged to before them.

I think the homesteaders only had a claim to the land that showed it was granted to them by the US government.

Very interesting. It's good to know so much about the early families. I wonder if young people today would live as Glover and Lucille did. Most would be whining about it and asking their parents to shore them up with money. Of course, there wasn't any to be had in those days.

Thank you for the review and comments. Any further chapters won't be nearly so long. This called for at least 2000 words. Yes, I can't imagine anyone living like for very long. Of course some of the preppers who believe something will take out of power gird, think they can.
