That was artfully done! I like how you engage the reader with the hidden information that Kamul doesn't know that Ayesha is grieving Bapit's amputation more than her husband and yet he's satisfied that she's finally grieving her husband.
But what awful tourists! And that poor elephant. I'm still waiting for the elephant and Bapit to be reunited...

Thanks, Helen. Glad you enjoyed that touch.
I agree - tourists from hell!
    I'm rooting for Abharamu too.

'"Cor!' he said. 'There'sâ??â??â??â?? a sight for sore eyes!"

Poor Abharamu elephant ... that ride sounds so painful.

I love saris, hijabs, and Indian jewelry.

How is poor Bapit manage... such a tragedy.

I look forward to find out what happens next to Bapit, Abharamu the elephant, and Ayesha.

Your story reminds me of a book I read, "water for elephants".

Well done

I have a granddaughter like Ayesha, it's seemingly not uncommon to be a little like that. Boy that was some price to pay, after running away from disaster, two innocents in Ayesha and Bapit, while the plot goes on, I wonder why Bruno wants to be known as dead, beautifully written Tony, blessings Roy

Thanks for your kind words, Roy. My daughter, too, though she's not so prone to fainting!

And all the while she is crying for Bapit, rather than her deceased husband. Now, I'm wondering where you're taking us with this story.
I almost cried when I read the cruelty to the elephants. I love this story, Tony. Ulla:)))

Thanks very much for the sixth star, Ulla, and your kind words. Fortunately, I think most places that keep elephants are better regulated these days.

Hi there,
As we rejoined the characters, I loved how you checked in on each situation, and your descriptive language about their emotions and reactions rang true.
Looking forward to the next chapter,

So much subterfuge and misunderstanding makes this such an intriguing tale. And despite Bapit's lost limb, the saddest part was the ill treatment of Abharamu. I hope she gets her revenge on her keeper before this is over.

This should be very interesting to see how Bapit and Ayesha's initial feelings towards each other get rekindled in view of his insulting behavior and her revulsion towards his disability. I'm sure it will be totally believable in your hands, Tony. - Jim

Wow, unexpected ending, poor guy, to lose a limb so young and that charade of a death. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings and the next chapter.

I can't imagine what they have planned for her, but I'm sure it isn't good. It may be a long time before Bapit can help her. I'm not sure how the elephant fits into any of this. Perhaps she's to help Bapit recover?

You weave a complex tale with many fibers. The writing is descriptive and very excellent. It is hard for me to follow, since I came in so late, but the story is very intriguing. I enjoy reading your work because it is so descriptive, and the characters believeable. You blend in humor and tragedy together well. I felt sorry for the elephant as well as the patient in the hospital. Well done.

Well written. Error-free, as far as I can tell.
Poor Bapit! Whatever will become of him now? Will Klahan get Ayesha in to see Bapit? We all hope so.
Best wishes.
