Wow, that revelation might explain a lot! A great build up here leading to Miranda's shock horror. You end on a cliff-hanger as we wait to know Mitch's take on this new information. Another engaging chapter, Gretchen, driven by your excellent command of dialogue. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

I hate scammers! The wreck so many innocent lives. I feel so sorry for
Jay Squires? He wrote about it before he left the site because he could no longer aford it after someone scammed him, wiped out all his money and his ex-wife's. (they were still close and she looked after the bills) It's too easy for scammers now.
Anyway, now Miranda will be sorting her ex out, she obviously knows it was him that did it, and that's why he walked out like that. I don't think Mr Starling will get his money back, unless you weave some magic here!!! lol. Loved this chapter, my friend!! :)) Sandra xx
It looks like Bill did tell Rita about the club,

I doubt even Miranda has that kind of magical power. Thank you for this nice review and the extra stars. Gretchen

Ist it funny, we may live with someone for sometime, but we may never know what true propensities they possess, nor what their desperate selfs may commit, I wonder if it's Dougie, or someone who looks like him, beautifully written, blessings Roy

This is a huge bombshell, but Miranda is not responsible and perhaps Mr Starling should go to the Police? Another investigation for Miranda here Gretchen, I enjoyed your well written post, love Dolly x x x

I think Mr. Starling might be humiliated and possibly looking for revenge. Not sure yet. Thank you for this. Gretchen

What a shocker this chapter was. Good reading on several levels. Wonder how long before Rita finds out where her hubby is working or sorry did he get put off or was that a previous job?

Rita knows he list his job and works at the strip club. She's just happy he isn't cheating on her. Lol. Thank you for this kind review and the extra star. Gretchen

Well, that is quite the bombshell, and now Miranda will be looking for him more significantly, knowing what she knows.

I still think there's more to Mr. Starling than meets the eye. Great chapter, Gretchen! Best, JohnC

I'm honestly not sure about Mr. Starling myself. With Rita saying what she said about his aura a few chapters back, I'm afraid for Miranda's involvement with him and his problem. Thank you fir this. Gretchen

Could Mr. Starling be confused about her boyfriend? How could she have gotten such a great kid from a man like that? Now she really needs to find him, not that he's likely to have any of the money he stole. You write good dialog where the voice of the speaker is different due to the difference in ages.

Thank you, Carol. Waylon isn't her son. Dougie just left him. They have come to love each other. Gretchen

I realized he wasn't hers, but bad guys usually have messed up kids.

Hmmm. The plot thickens. More heartache and tragedy.
Nicely written chapter. Didn't see a thing that needed correction. Good work.
Best wishes.

Hmmmm! And the plot THICKENS! I never saw this coming; that's for sure! I love this line:

I wonder if she understands what kind of "club" it is. It ain't the country club, that's for sure.

Every chapter, I get a least one out loud laugh. Thank you for that.

You're making fantastic progress, but you're not rushing or strangling the pace. It's absolutely perfect.

Thank you, Rachelle. I had written this chapter and lost the whole damn thing. This caught me off guard too. You know I can't controll Miranda. Never have, never will. Glad you liked it. Gretchen
