Well, the details were so precise that one can't help believing it's autobiographical, except that I know you have children so this is fictional. Yet it's so believable and heartwarming. It's perfect for a Christmas story! Hope this does well in the contest!
Suggestion:
"Gramma, can I take dance lessons." (maybe end with a question mark?)

This is a wonderful story that should be published all over the world. You have written quite accurately about fostering and adoption. Three of our children were adopted at 9 and 10 and 3 were custodial from 18 months to 5 years, and the seventh was just ours to love without any papers. One of them is a case worker looking for foster homes and those are so badly needed.

Thanks for sharing your story. One of my grandson is adopted. He was found in a hotel room at about month old. My daughter and her husband were foster parents and George arrived late at night. He's 32 now and such a sweetheart! It is difficult to find good foster homes; some kids luck out -- as do the parents who suddenly become parents. OH and the 6 stars!!!! Thank you so very much!!! ann

Whatever you think you can do, it's certainly a contradiction with this beautiful story, we had two children of our own, but if I could adopt every waif on earth I would, it's just that there are incredible obstacles in the way, it should be easier, but authorities make the near impossible, beautifully written Ann, blessings Roy
