I love seeing fields of buttercups and your little poem made me yearn for warm Summer days instead of the coldness of Winter. "My heart brims with golden dreams". Beautiful. Good luck.

Thank you!
We are right at the start of summer here and the rural roads seem to have bright yellow carpets either side, stretching as far as the eye can see. I know they are weeds and I don't like that they're starting to pop up in my lawn as well, but heck they are beautiful and certain to raise the spirits.

Well, it seems like a rather abrupt ending to some well-chosen words, redolent of a charming interlude!
Here, in Californy, we wait for the poppy blooms that splash their orange presence across the foothills along the 05 Interstate north of LA.

Ah, I guess summer is drawing nigh over there. I like the haiku-like feeling of your 5-7-5 and there is something very cheering about the buttercup which unfortunately likes to take over like the dandelion.
Best wishes in the contest!

I can imagine. I do love their glossy petals and have pressed them for cards.

Hi Steve,
What a beautiful picture to go with the words of a great feeling to have every warm day. Though on some days you might interchange types of flowers depending and the time of season.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of your week.

We are on the cusp of winter here in the midsouth USA. Your lovely three-line contest entry is an uplift bringing back some remembered visions of summer beauty. I enjoyed the encounter very much.

This is such a delightful poem to read. Your words make us see and feel the joy of a sun-filled, carefree day. I love how you describe it as "buttercup" summer.
