How fascinating, this is your young life during the early part of the war, talking to a young German Hans, kid are naturally unprejudiced, and there's nothing wrong with that, German soldiers bled red when cut too, and their families, and particularly mums and wife's miss them more, beautifully written Ben, blessings Roy

Typo : other (vacillates) facilities? 2 : making ord(i)nance.

This was a great read, only full of errors all over, mate. You need to take more care with spelling and grammar.Place names included. eg "Sisily" I am sure you could do better. Sorry, I have not edited this time.

I enjoyed your memories here Ben and your rich descriptions took me to another time and place. War is never simple and hating the enemy help us process why we are involved in it.

Suggestion for this line:
(Mom could tell he (had) prejudice toward those who had bombed Pearl Harbor and killing so many)

An entertaining read Ben, love Dolly x

An interesting read and written well. War time and thereabouts to me always provides a good read because my Dad served in New Guinea. He used to tell me some stories but I know there was more he would not tell. When he passed away I found some diaries filled with notes. Both sad and happy notes.
I will look out for your next instalment.
Cheers
