Miranda is a really strong and stubborn character. You have developed her well. Even when she is doing something stupid, one can help but admire her. I enjoy this story.

Lol. I'm glad you like her. I love that you can admire her even when she does something stupid. That is priceless. Gretchen

I don't know if I agree with Miranda's Momma or not. Part of me thinks who in the hell is Mitch to decide for Miranda what she needs. It is not his business to make those decisions. Or her Mother's. I am dug into your stories. I like them a lot. Karen

I'm glad you are enjoying the stories I post. That is nice to hear. Mitch only did it because it was Momma's idea. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

I love the tension in the beginning when Preston rushes out and his departure seems to be linked to the telephone call Miranda has received. His efforts to stop the woman filling up with diesel are met with derision and ignorance, nicely captured in Miranda's final punch line (great!) And then the unresolved issue of Mitch might now take a turn for the better because, if Miranda is going to listen to anyone, it would be her Momma. Another enjoyable chapter with some developing elements to the story. No errors noted. Well done, Gretchen, Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. I really like Preston. And as mad as she was with her momma, she was relieved Mitch was just a pawn. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Well done. Good chapter.
I didn't think Miranda would do it, call Mitch. Pride is pretty stubborn. People will walk right into a fire just to prove they are right.
Best wishes.

She was glad to know Mitch didn't want to do it. You tell the truth about proving themselves right. Great review. Gretchen

I've lost the context of this in terms of a novel, obviously. However this chapter grips the reader and is well-constructed. I hope the woman putting diesel in her car will figure some more, she is very interesting. kay

Oh my goodness - three dramas. The guy on the phone (how creepy), the diesel ( what a nitwit the woman is!) and M's mother. Now, I have to just wait and hope that she and Mitch will forgive each other and get back together, and that they'll solve the other situation!!! Well written.

Miranda is struggling, first of all Preston tries to rescue a woman from putting diesel in a petrol driven motor, which requires the tank coming off and given a thorough cleaning, unless she actually runs it and wrecks the motor, and then she rings Mitch by the urging of her mum, but leaves a message. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : I've just about (had) enough

It's either that or stay single

Now what kind of apology is that? Poor Mitch. He was only trying to help her and she became angry and walked away. He's such a nice guy. Preston is going to be a big help to Marinda. He's a very observant person. Well done. Nancy:)

I love Preston. He's going to be a major player in this story, I have a feeling. Thank you for the awesome comments and review. I appreciate the extra star. Gretchen

I like him too. Sounds good! Nancy:)

You do a good job of character development. I thought of Preston as a big helpful dog and that is the way you describe him. The phone call is certainly creepy and has upped the tension with the mention of Dougie's favorite beer. Mama does a good job convincing Miranda that the shrink was her idea. Miranda finally sees reason.

Miranda is going to have to pull up her big girl pants and apologize for going AWOL on Mitch. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Oh, dear, I do hope Miranda can make up with Mitch. Miranda is a bullheaded woman, and sometimes, our pride stand in our way of making the best decision. I learned the hard way.

She is very stubborn. But will usually do the right thing. Will be interesting to see her have to admit she's wrong. Gretchen
