This was one of my favorite Halloween poems. It has it all, with many wonderfully clever lines. One of my favorites is It "growls a purr, to chill and stir Impending doom in smooth black fur." Overall wonderful imagery. Just scary enough, for both little and big kids alike. Best of luck.

You conjured up all the spooky Halloween images and put them together in a creative, smooth flowing rhyme to scare all who read your poem. You begin with the fade of light, and end with the morning sun. In between, all sorts of horrors have taken place. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

Hi Jessica, this reminded me of my husband (passed)
first date...he took me to a cemetery...of course the first
thing that came to mind was...this was our last date...
but it turned out to be a great night...we went and saw
where Al Capone was buried...and other interesting plots
there...he was a railroad engineer...so not what I expected...LOL...
