Well done! I baulked at this challenge because I wasn't too sure how I could develop a story seamlessly without breaking the sentence. You did this very well. As a fellow animal lover, I responded to your character's life decisions. Animals lack judgement and they give us so much unconditional love. Thanks for the share and good luck in the contest.

This sentence reminds me of a couple of my favorite lengthy sentences in the beginning of the book by Steinbeck called Cannery Row. It is on pdf so every once in a while when I want to savor some luscious writing, I go to the pdf link.

I remember getting permission in grade school to write a single sentence for a 20 spelling words each week instead of individual sentences - as long as I did not simply list them.
