Wow. What an impressive read this is on so many levels. The story of this young man's life is remarkable, as are you, who made it all possible. But the way you presented it is what's most impressive of all because you never once thumped your chest or patted yourself on the back. It's all about HIM, his will to live, and the medical staff who made it possible. The explanation about the universal health offered in your country is beautifully explained, as well. This was an extremely enriching piece to read, Wendy. I am sending love and prayers to you all. xoxox

This is such an inspiring piece to read. This is the first time I've come across your journey, but reading your account here really moved me and I could feel your emotion coming through. You're doing a brilliant job being their for your son at such an important time. I hope he'll continue to improve and that you'll continue to have many more years together.

Wow what an amazing woman you are for accepting this person into your life and giving him unconditional love for the rest of his life. It sounds as if you have more challenging days to come. I will pray for him.

In your country, the disabled are treated with respect and given all the medical care needed to ensure their quality of life. That sounds so amazing! In my country, we have to have medical insurance to get the care we need and deserve. Sadly, we are one of the last of the countries in the free world to not see the need for free medical help for all who need it.
Your foster son is a wonder in his resilience and his strength of will. He is a survivor and there is no doubt in my mind that having you and your son by his side to comfort and love him is responsible for his enduring these treatments which otherwise, he might not endure. You and your family are in my thoughts, especially your foster son.

Hi Jesse, thank you so much for your most thoughtful and encouraging words. I find it sad that the US hasn?t adopted a similar health system. I gather that the poorer people simply die. It?s not right for that to be so. Your words of support for this young man who we have always considered to be part of the family are very greatly valued. Many thanks.

Yes, Wendy, it is sad and wrong to let those who can't afford medical insurance die. That is what we call freedom. Haha. No freedom from pain or suffering. No freedom from living in squalor. Our country lives on the notion that the one who has the most money wins. Sad yet true.
You value life and the living, which is a good thing. I want to live in your country, Where people are valued more than money.
    Take care, my friend.

That?s so very sad. Yes, here our country experiences droughts, bushfires and floods all quite regularly, and people always look after each other, without judgment. Same with the medical care. I would never live anywhere else. Many thanks again.

Looking after one another without judgment is the best thing ever.
I wouldn't want to move anywhere else, either.
    Take good care of yourself.

What a beautiful story. I am an Australian too, and I echo your gratitude for our medical system. We are so blessed. I really hope your foster son recovers soon and well. You are a wonderful person to do the things that you do for him and with him. God needs people with human hands to do His work. Blessings.

Hi Wendy,
firstly, my prayers have been surrounding your son, you and your family through this, yet another hurdle to clear and fight through.

I thank and praise our Creator for choosing your family for this very special soul... your son was placed in very capable hands.

And in saying that, It doesn't take away from all that not only your son has had to endure, but also all who are standing beside him, worrying, hoping, praying, consoling and believing in, while he is going through these demanding trials.

You are a very special person and family indeed!

I think reading this story, really puts things into perspective. What we perceive to be a hard day, or a challenging day, doesn't really rate in the scheme of things.

My thoughts and prayers are with your son, you, and your family Wendy... and to all those beautiful-dedicated people who work long and hard hours within demanding surrounds in the pursuit of the health and well being of others.

Thank you for writing this biographical non-fictional essay to update and let us all know what has been happening in you and your family's life... much appreciated!

With our thoughts we create...
connective love.

Kindest regards,
James.

Truly grateful for your gracious response Wendy... hope you and your family are well; that is the 'everything'. Your son has some big hitter's up there working in his corner... he came to the right family. It truly warms my heart to know that.

Just got back from visiting him again this evening. He has good colour and his obs are stable. He has already drained well over a litre from the second lung. In 24 hours!
So hopefully he can start to pick up. So long as the fluid doesn?t return. Thank you so much for your care and supportive encouragement.

Thanks for the comprehensive report on your son, and how's he's doing, I'm sold out for prayer, God certainly listens, someone once said we have no idea what power is in the hands of those who believe. The legacy that Jesus left us was His authority in prayer, "The things I do, you will do, and greater works than I do, because i go to the Father" John 14:12-14, well done, blessings Roy
