Debi, I thought I had responded to this one but it doesn't show it, so i guess I didn't. It is lovely and sad, and good for your husband for showing you something to lift your spirits. I never heard the term sun-bow, but I guess it makes sense if it's colors around the sun. I've never seen one.
But surely it's a good sign. A lovely poem!

Hi there Sweetie. This is the first I had ever heard of them or seen one.
It was Helen who told me what they were. It did lift my spirits because it did feel like a divine message of peace. Thanks for the kind words, dear friend!
-
well that's good. I'm glad you saw it. and felt that way. We could all certainly use a message of peace.
-
Did you know that if you add your age plus year of birth today it will equal 2023
-
no. will give it a try. thanks.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
This fine verse is very relatable because we can often feel guilt or regret for not being more present for someone who then passes. I've never heard of sunbows before but it certainly could be perceived as a beautiful sign of peace. Thanks for sharing, Debi. Debbie

Debbie, I sure do appreciate the very kind review and comments for my poem for the loss of my friend.
Actually I had never heard of a sun-bow either before Helen told me what they were. Thank you so very much, my dear friend.

I believe that we see and understand certain things at times in our lives when we need "a sign". I guess your sunbow is a sign that you need to let go of your guilt and move on. Better for your friend, as well. Perhaps SHE is the one who sent it.
A good entry for this contest, and written with a lot of love and heart.

Pam, I thank you so very much for such a sweet review and now I was going to write a few more thank you's and you are next on my list to try to review.
I do appreciate all your kind words, dear Twin. Twins don't have to be related, as I'm sure your son loves the MN Twins. Lol... at least I hope he is a fan. Anyway, ignore my silly jokes,, and thank you again, as it has been so great being in touch again. I will see you soon!!

I have nothing promoted right now so don't bother to review. Should have a Halloween story up by Monday.

I never look to see how much is on there, but will come back next week too.

You are always there for everybody, and you manage to transfer a sad event into something memorable: "That's when I saw it in the sky
A lovely ball of colored glow
Like a round pastel butterfly
He said from God, your own Sun~Bow."

Yes, Debi, we have all been there at one time or another. We have also very different ways of coping with the death of a near and dear one. You found your solace in the rainbow and your faith. Ulla:)))

This poem presents a lovely idea in response to guilt and a loss. The rhyming is good throughout and the poem has a nice steady eight beat rhythm. I wish you well in the contest

Hi
This is a touching poem of grief and hope. It shows your love for your friend who died. And also the love of your husband and God. It reminds us that faith can bring us hope in the future and in getting through hard times like grief. I didn't know they some used to call rainbows sun-bows.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Good luck in the contest.
Have a great day.

I've never seen or heard of a sun-bow, but how beautiful it is! I'm glad it brought you the comfort you needed. Loss of a beloved friend is devastating, but rain or sun bows do offer hope. Lovely sentiments.

This poem, God Gave Me a Sun-bow, presented with six ABAB-rhymed quatrains, allows that God still communicates with us through the majesty of nature's signs when we are in great need of it.
It is a small thing, but "Twas" is a contraction of "it is".

Thanks Bill, and as always I appreciate your kind comments.
But I?m pretty sure ?Twas is a contraction for it was. Knowing you, I?m also sure you just looked at it Wrong. Happens to me too, as I was looking at it as I was, so your suggestion helped catch my mistake. I always appreciate the help.
-
What I meant to write was it was , which is not what you are saying. You are saying
I was .
-
Yes, did you see where I added that I too looked at it wrong and you helped me catch my mistake?
