Hi Gypsy Queen,
I use this title in accordance to the passion laid bare upon the page.
Firstly, hmmmm, or is it actually secondly? Your presentation and images are stunning without even reading any of the words accompanying them!
Magically emotive even within the intent of restraint.
I can feel the passion burning from the heat generated on the page.... hmmmm, or is that my computer screen overheating?:))
Nah, it's most likely the poem causing my screen to give rise to this extra heat I feel.
You certainly know how to express yourself so eloquently with the mastery of your craft.
Oh... how I had wished I knew of what poetry, words, reading, feeling and emotion would have delivered and gifted me at an earlier age, my life would have branched out from its limited little world, instead of the grain of sand within my oyster shell I was trapped in.
The poem's beauty on the page and the words that inspire reaction such as this, allows me to bathe within the full-bodied beauty of just how feeling everything at once actually feels.
So beautifully composed MariVal!
With our thoughts we create...
an avenue of release.
Warmest regards,
James.

Thank you, James, your review is certainly a treat. You write so eloquently... like the poet you are. I'm happy you like this one. I love madame butterfly opera but it's very sad. Loving someone so passionately who doesn't love back is tragic and very painful.
I hope you are having a great day. It's night time here.
Besitos y abrazos

I am not a poet, and usually shy away from reviewing poetry. However, this Tanka is filled with such heartfelt emotion and passion. Your dramatic artwork attracts attention and your explanation of the rules for Tanka poetry make it easier to understand and appreciate. Thank you for your beautiful synopsis of the story of Madame Butterfly with a link to the full story. Thanks also for links to the Tanka Society. I'll have to check that out.

There's enough dishonouring of innocent folk in this world, enough shallow graves dug with misshapen shovels , such a sad story and poem. Beautifully written Gypsy, blessings Roy
