I'm sorry for your loss. But you have some beautiful memories.
Excellent entry for the Childhood Friendship contest.
Wonderful rhyming that flows well and doesn't sound forced. It's a well written poem with good form and composition.

It's so hard to lose lifelong friends. It's a blessing that you found one another again after losing touch... Still, even with faith, it's hard not to want just a little more time... And a little more after that!

Flawlessly rhymed and filled with heartfelt affection for your dear friend. Within your words we see days when life was simpler and pleasures innocent and pure.

I am sorry for your loss and can really relate to this poem as I also lost my best friend recently and I feel devastated.
This is a fabulous poem. I think it will do very well in the competition. Cheers. Jen.

What a poignant poem. A beautiful childhood friendship with wonderful memories - it was good you were able to reconnect more recently. Your poem has beautiful rhyme and metre, flowing so smoothly. I liked the circularity of the ending too. It's a fine entry for the Childhood Friendhip contest, very well written, and I send you my best wishes for it.

I'm sorry for your loss. Though you may not feel as much the loss of the actual person, it's the person and memories of which you will feel the loss.
You told the story well, my friend,
John

It's nice to have those memories of that special friend. Doesn't matter how long they were in your life either. There is a special place in your heart. This was a wonderful poem full of nostalgia and warmth. Sorry for your loss. Gretchen

Thanks, Gretchen. I look up at Mt. Battie now and then and get the urge to make that climb one more time.
