It is a dark piece. These are dark times... I can't help but wonder if we are on the path to the apocalypse. I realize many a generation has thought this...

Why does it feel so treacherous a course ~~ and what will it take for us to see?

With the course we're on, I seriously doubt we'll ever see. One of these times that generation is going to be right. Lol. Thank you for the fantastic review and generous stars, Karenina.

You had my attention with the picture. It couples with your dark theme perfectly to deliver a powerful message. Has the seal been broken? I hope not, but things seem to be heading that way.
Best of luck in the contest. This has to be a contender.

Thank you for the great review, Debi. There's actually a lot of work put into the picture. First, I found the pic of the horses, then because of what the scripture says, had to make the one on the right red rather than the color it was. Then had to add all the bad guys in there from numerous different Google Images. Lol. The picture might have taken longer than writing the piece. Good thing I like playing around in my art program nearly as much as writing. Haha.

Yes, I hope not too. It'll be a bad situation if it has.

I dearly appreciate the gracious stars and good luck wishes, D.

Thank you for sharing this, Dragon Skulls. I don't believe the seals have been broken yet because the Revelation 6 pale horse and rider is the Antichrist. He receives his power and seven years of authority at the onset. I believe we are close though. I also believe that when this happens the believers in Christ will rapture. Read 1 Thessalonians 4 for more on this doctrine.

The unrest in the world, corruption of world leaders, weather phenomenon, astronomical phenomenon, fire in the sky, war, rumors of war, violence, and bloodshed, blasphemy, lets me know we are closing in to the predicted time of the end.

Jesus returns much later to the earth after the reign of the Antichrist and False Prophet at Armageddon.

Revelation 19-
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.] I believe the "Armies in heaven clothed in linen, white and clean" are not angels, they're raptured believers. Scripture implies: washed white and clean.

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

One sign that's overlooked right now, is the absence of truth on the earth. The old testament says we will search for truth during these days and will not be able to find it.

Personally, I've never heard so many lies circling the earth.

Amos 8-
The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD, "when I will send a famine through the land-- not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.

I hope you know the Lord, my friend. Draw close to him now. Be praying and watching.

Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.
Sally Law :))

A stunning picture to enhance and capture your word's foreboding warning:
"lose not your eyes to our misdeeds.
They mount their steeds.
The horsemen wait...misdeeds.
They mount their steeds.
The horsemen wait... t
To subjugate."
Powerful!

It is a very bleak prognosis but probably needs to be said and, if so, as effectively as possible. Your verse and image evocatively convey this message of doom in language that is simple and clear, couched in very pleasing meter and rhyme. The last stanza is the stand-out favourite! Superb and a very strong contender! Good luck! Debbie

Great but foreboding. They still have not rebuilt the temple in Jerusalem so I think we still have some time left.

Unfortunately the earth is rolling steadily towards its demise. For Christians, this should not be feared.

I hope not. Everyone thinks we'll be gone before the tribulations but it doesn't actually say that we will anywhere in the bible. If it does, I'd like to know where so I can read it. I'm not sure of the rebuilding of a Jerusalem temple but my mom most likely does. She went to a bible collage. I'll have to ask her about that.

Thank you for the great review and stars, Doug. I appreciate it, friend.

Fabulous presentation and the sober rhyme of the poem is in cadence with the picture: "lose not your eyes to our misdeeds.
They mount their steeds.
The horsemen wait...
To subjugate. "
Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest, I think you have a winner.

Thank you for the fantastic review, Iza. I actually put a lot of work into the picture. I found the horse picture in Google Images then had to make the horse on the right actually be red, because of the scripture. Then I added all the grim reaper looking fellows in there too. Lol. I really appreciate the stars and good luck wishes, Iza. I'm glad you liked this dark piece.

This stands an excellent chance of winning in my humble opinion. The story is well constructed and the rhymes are interesting. I shall now tear up my own mundane effort... kay

Wow, thank you so much for the great review and big sixer, Kay. No, no, no, don't give up any effort. There's no way this dark piece will ever even be considered to place, let alone win this contest. Lol. True love, bunnies and rainbows win on here. I just can't make myself write like that, even for 'real' cash. Haha. I dearly appreciate the generous rating, Kay. You made my day. Thank you again.
