She sounds like such a sweet lady. She is lonely and Jameson is filling and empty space in her life. The space her Daniel would have occupied had he lived. She is filling a need in him as well. Maybe a mother image? Well done. Nancy:)

They definitely both need each other. It will be tough for both of them at the doctor's office. Gretchen

What a shame for poor Iris, I think we forget that there are people like that in this world, people who are truly alone with no support whatsoever. We go through life taking our circumstances for granted. A fine post Gretchen, easily flowing words with natural dialogue so that we can sit at the table with these two and eavesdrop, much enjoyed, love Dolly x x x

Love that! Sitting at the table with them. That's the best compliment! I really appreciate this. Gretchen

It's strange how, though you have two separate storylines, they have quickly melded into one shared story, with each needing the other. It should be interesting when Jameson goes with her to her doctor's appointment, to possibly hear the doctor's pronouncement. Dang, but this is a good chapter.

Thanks so much, Jay. I'm so glad you liked it. I hope it doesn't get too sad for some people. I really appreciate your kind review. Gretchen

This is a good conversation. Iris seems to be reassuring Jamison that he is doing the right thing. Jamison makes it possible for Iris to go to the doctor to hear the worst. Understandably, she feels anxious about letting him know how sick she is, but she has picked the right man for the job.

Jameson should be able to handle it. He will definitely try to be strong for Iris's sake. Thank you for this awesome review. Gretchen

I can't blame Iris for not wanting to face the doctor alone. If it were me in her shoes, I'm not sure if I would've told Jameson either ahead of time. Probably afraid she wouldn't show face.

I think it'll be interesting for the coming weekend when Jameson want to see Finn
once more.

Good writing.
John

Hes having to pull on his big boy pants a lit lately. But isn't facing challenges what makes a man? Thank you so much for this. Gretchen

You have done a fantastic job with this chapter. The dialogue is believable and carries the story forward in an excellent manner. This is the first I have read of this story. I will watch for more. Nice work.

Ugh. It's so sad what's coming, but you're preparing US for it first before Jameson, and for that, I thank you. It's nice that, like an onion, you peel away each of these characters' layers a little at a time. Ahhh, Time: something we lose a little more of with each passing chapter. This book really makes me think a lot after each post. I trust you know what a good sign that is about you as a writer.

I gotta tell you. I cried my eyes out towards the end. Trying to say goodbye to a character like Iris is tough. It was a lot like when my mother passed from Pulminary Fibrosis. You want to soak up all the wisdom you can. The discussion of end of life stage ... tough. Glad you are sticking with it. Six is very appreciated. Gretchen

I'm glad it'll be Jameson with her.

I'm sorry you had to go through this with your mom. End-of-life necessities are just excruciating. xo

Jameson is going to be in for a surprise on this doctor visit with Iris. He apparently has no idea how ill she is. The biggest surprise will be when he finds out what she's left. I'm glad he's going with her to that appointment.

Thanks so much. I personally think she should have told him what she was expecting. But she was more afraid he might not go with her. Gretchen
