Higher standards should be expected of teachers than of others I have read on several occasions. This includes correct use of notes which is to clarify / add references to a text, not as a space to write a second essay. This is the reason I feel this piece needs improvement kay

Thanks very much. I felt it clarified and added reference to the picture I posted, but I do see your point re the "second essay."

Your poem is excellent. It sounds like you were a wonderful teacher. i got a minor in education and thought about teaching but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle the discipline in a large class. I found that I was a good tutor and I always enjoyed teaching on a one to one basis. I had to do job training many times and I also taught many friends how to get started using a computer.

You're so smart to have listened to your Little Voice and then figured out the area of teaching that was your perfect match. It sounds like you enjoyed it very much.
Thanks for the super nice review. Very much appreciated. xo

Your notes were as good as your poem, Rachelle. It is great to see students that you have taught become successful. In two weeks, I will be attending the fiftieth class reunion of students I taught so many years ago.

Rachelle,
I thought I would pop in to see what was going on and found this wonderfully written testament that tells what lies behind all effective teaching -- love, compassion, encouragement, patience, and the shared joy of success. Kudos!

I agree with your statement:"eaching isn't just a job.
And if you do it right,
like me, you'll love it forty years,
each moment a delight.", Teaching is a sensitive journey you can give wings or break hearts. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

This one is straight from the heart, Rachelle. I have never heard the saying "They don't care what you know until they know you care." Teachers should be required to recite that before they get their diplomas. It should be engraved on their diplomas and licenses. Sort of like the Hippocratic oath.
Your notes show how you put that mantra to work. What a clever idea, benefitting so many people both students and Teaching Students alike. You must have a booming business. I'm not surprised that so many people are clamoring to be in your classroom.
Your creativity, energy, and, yes, kindness help so many to soar.

I think it comes from that mantra: If you love it, it's not work. I just LOVE this daily gig of mine, so it's easy to put my heart into it.
Thank you for yet another really sweet, encouraging review. I always love your warm and gracious touch. xoxox

Well written inspiring narrative. A good teacher leaves an indelible mark on their students. We all need someone to speak life and hope into especially if we have difficulty finding it within ourselves. Well done!

After my elder child graduated from the Conservatorium, she was given a few students to teach from her old high school, but she had trouble receiving her due fees from that venture, she went out and got an education degree to reach in the classroom, then it was fine. My daughter's talent is amazing as a performer, but that also is fickle, but she loves teaching, and the people she teaching, she would agree it was always her calling. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
