It's good that he has hired a lawyer. I suspect Claire is going to make things as messy as she can so she can keep Jameson dangling. Thank goodness, he has Iris in his corner. She's a smart lady.

Well, he did it. He has filled out the papers with a lawyer.
He has decided to fight back since Clair is so vague about talking about the problem she has with their marriage. The ball's in her court now. We'll see how she reacts to being served. Well done, Gretchen. Nancy:)

well, that was a quickie, or it seemed like one. I was all ready for some sage advice from Iris or more discussion--maybe in next chapter.
Of course I love this story, oh, and especially Jameson's first paragraph - had to smile - practical young man.

One correction:
As much as I want to believe I am a peaceful (something is missing here), Iris is right. I'll fight tooth and nail for Finny.

This is a brief chapter, but it establishes that Jamison is getting the legal ball rolling with his divorce. Not sure about telling his wife first, but it happens. The writing is good and I see no editing issues.

This is always a pleasure to read. It engages you instantly because the dialogue is excellent, no matter who the character is. I love meeting Iris again - she's such a lovely lady and is obviously trying to be very upbeat, not expressing any health concerns etc. I think I'd like Iris in my life:) Thanks for sharing Gretchen. I think divorce is always cruel for one or the other, but poor old Jameson is a good man who deserves a break and child custody, at least partially, sometimes children thrive when the dad has major custody, Jameson was wrong about the female lawyer, and is probably better off with her, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Unfortunately this is a very accurate presentation of a lot of people who make vows then don't or won't fulfil them because it takes work. Claire seems to epitomise this self-centred philosophy and people like Jameson take the consequences. I hope Iris gets the chance and time to share her difficulties as well. She too needs someone to help her walk her life road. Well written as always. I always look forward to your stories.

Unfortunately this is a very accurate presentation of a lot of people who make vows then don't or won't fulfil them because it takes work.
