I will be praying hard for her. I cannot imagine having to go through this. Thank you for sharing her message and the beautiful (but sad) poem you wrote for her. Best wishes to both of you.

Whilst you and I have been given a second chance with our sight, I really feel for Sally. I feel she must have been very frightened whilst her sight faded. All prayers coming Sally's way. She can use voice and a special keyboard. Eyesight is so precious as we know. K xx

I am so happy you did not do the lenses. I thought mine were so great until about the third day after the second one and the mono vision is horrible. I can barely see past six feet beyond me and close up isn't that great either. They tell me that it takes a while for the brain to get the two to work together but I wish so bad I had done the other lens I guess I shouldn't complain when I think about what Sally is going thru. It's just that mine is worse then it was before. End of complaining!

This is a moving poem. Although Sally is a blind detective, she has a plan to finish a book.

She comes to the right place ( Fanstory), a big family group. She would be assured that all members will support her.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Debi, for writing and posting this request for prayer and emotional support for our dear friend Sally after her discovery that her vision had significantly dwindled overnight.

Sal and I exchange PMs most days because I proofread after all she posts, as both her speech-to-text and text-to-speech equipment make mistakes. Consequently, I have known about this setback and have been praying for her for two days so far, and will continue to do so. Also, I will do all I can to help Sally continue writing, as I like it as much as you and many other FanStorians do.

Debi, your poetic explanation of Sally's current situation is both thorough and compassionate. Indeed, you have become the Queen of Compassion on this site because your sincerity is so evident.

Superb, and aptly illustrated by Kenzie's "Sad Eye" drawing. -- Mike

You are most welcome, Debi. Your post requesting prayers for Sally is yet another reason why she cherishes YOUR friendship so much.

My life has been dedicated to helping others since my 1990 "Icy Blind Curve Encounter":
    https://www.fanstory.com/displaystory.jsp?hd=1&id=872244

FanStory provides endless opportunities to help other writers to blossom and accomplish their goals. Years ago, Sally's fading eyesight plus her willingness to learn put her at the top of my daily list. Her recent drop to foggy keyhole vision prompted me to assure her that I will do my best to help her to continue writing, for the benefit of all. Sally replied that she knew this time would come, so she has been preparing a backlog of both posts and potential illustrations. I can process images, even down to the pixel level, so I can help her with that too, if needed. Consequently, we are NOT losing Sally's delightful presence among us. All she needs is to know how much we truly treasure her and her posts.

Thank you again, Debi, for your part in all this. :)) -- Mike

I have tears as I read this as I am so touched by your loyalty to her too. I know you were there long before I was, but I pray she knows that we both will be by her side in love, spirit and friendship no matter what. She has told me many times before you and I met, what an inspiration you are to her and how she wouldn't be doing what she does without you. So for that I am truly thankful. God bless you Mike and I will read that icy blind curve. It sounds amazing.

Thank you, Debi. Yes, Sally knows, as she also tells me good things about you. I understand that you, like many other FanStorians, are enduring at least one lingering health issue, which is why there is so much compassion here. You are among the few who mitigate anguish by posting sincere, caring poems like this one to console someone, call for prayers, and provide encouragement.

The time I devote to helping others (both at FanStory and elsewhere) limits my time for reviewing, but I read far more. I do not write minimal reviews just to collect payouts. For the same reasons, I rarely post now, which is why I am no longer ranked. -- Mike

This is beautiful and so bittersweet, Debi. I don't know Sally, although my maiden name is her married name. My heart is broken for her. Do you think she'd mind if I reach out to her?
Your heartfelt concern for her is captured well in this beautiful, sad verse. Well done.
I'm praying that God will either restore her sight or if this isn't His perfect will, that He'll teach her to more deeply trust and depend on Him.
Blessings and thank you for bringing this need to my attention.
Deb

You are so sweet Lisa. Sally has been using every tool available for years as she has been the same as blind for sometime. She had spots and times where she could see very little and has been dealing and that's why she is known as the blind detective. She has a whole series of them. But now her little windows of here and there light are growing dark. And any hope of
Reversal is gone. Thanks so much for your caring words for her as she will
Be able to listen to al the kind words.

How frightening for Sally. You don't say how old she is. I hope not too young! Now, I will check her out if possible. It's wonderful that you can create lovely poetry for those who need it.

She is actually a few months younger me and will be 68 Aug 3. Check out her blind detective series of books since she has been as good as blind for years, but this is shutting The door on the few light ' spots she had..
Thanks Shari for all the kind words for her.
